The Challenger Deep - The deepest known point of our ocean, it is a valley within the Mariana Trench. We discussed and learned a lot about the Mariana Trench in Chantel’s episode last week, so I recommend you listen to that episode as well to learn about how the trench was formed, what animals can be found on the way down, and some really great descriptions for the crushing pressure at this point.

@@CoastFilesPod I was a commercial diver for 5 years and did some working dives in the south Pacific between Hawaii and Japan and was always freaked out by the sharks and eels.
