I cant help hearing a verse from my favourite Runrig song as I watch your videos, Kim. No doubt you know it, but for those who don't.......... "There's thunder clouds, in the homeland bay As I step out in the rain In the sepia showers and the photo-flood days. I saw a fleeting glimpse of light and the waters black as night, while the colour's of Scotland Leave me warm inside. Not sure if the verse is entirely correct but near enough and how I remember it. God bless you, your enthusiasm is truly inspiring.

I agree, this is one of the most beautiful places. I was there last May, the wind was ferocious back then. The hike up was not easy but it is so worth it. I fell in love with your country while being there, Kim. Going back in April. I can't wait! I dream of spending many weeks discovering many wonders of Scotland while sleeping in a campervan. One day, for sure!

We visited and fell in love with Skye in May 2017 and were lucky to have beautiful weather that week. The Old Man of Storr was without doubt the highlight of our week. We got up at 3.30am and managed to get to the top for sunrise (along with about 8 other photographers!). Utterly beautiful, peaceful, goosebump inducing experience. I don't think I've felt that way about a view before or since. Thanks for posting. Makes me want to go again.

Great view! I love how you are always amazed at nature and taken aback by it. I also love your passion for Scotland and it really does inspire me to go there (hopefully one day). I really would love to since my grandmother is a quarter Scottish as well. Growing up we would always go to the Scottish festival every year, but it would be amazing to go one day!

I had the benefit of a pre-dawn hike when I visited this place last year. It was so dark, I couldn't see how difficult a climb it would be! Unfortunately, and typically for me, when I got up to the top, it was dull, grey skies.

Funny how this video popped to my youtube front page, as I was just taking a break from editing my shots from our trip to Skye last weekend! The Old Man wasn't as nice to us as it was for you Kim, as the winds were quite strong, and rain poured down on us so much, that part of the group was thinking of giving up. But we did get up there, and the evening sun came along a bit later on! And got couple of cracking images from there! I will most likely return there someday in the future, and will definately consider wild camping there too!

Great to have it so quiet. We usually go in the first half of May and that has got busier and busier over the years. Cold days are much better for long distance views. Warm summer days are great for views of midges 1cm from your nose!

You say the walk up is 'a lot tougher than people give it credit for', and that is the reason why you didn't go up for sunrise. Come on Kim, you could have done it very easily ;). It is also winter, so sunrise was at a decent time, unlike in the summer when I still manage to convince clients to make the very early start to go up there. I have had clients as old as 70 make it up in under 1.5 hours.

The Storr is indeed a fantastic place (btw I think you didn't say "out of this world" even once in this vodeo?). First time we went up there must have been around 1995 ... with my wife carrying our two year old son on her back. You were really lucky to be practically alone there. In the summer, it's just overrun. And even in the other seasons you may bump into little armies of photographers in the morning or evening.
