EXPLORE Sturgis South Dakota and Devils Tower National Monument / Spearfish-Black Hills KOA RV Site

🪨Stan and Rhonda from Over The Hill Adventures close out their South Dakota adventure and explore Sturgis, Belle Fourche and Devils Tower National Monument. As 500,000 motorcycle enthusiasts head to Sturgis, South Dakota for the famous Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, Stan and Rhonda give their viewers a glimpse of Sturgis before the crowds arrive. They go with friends and visit the Motorcycle Hall of Fame and the Full Throttle Saloon which is hailed as the largest biker bar in the world. Stan and Rhonda head to Devils Tower National Monument in Wyoming, but not before first stopping at the Geographic Center of the Nation in Belle Fourche, South Dakota. In 1959, Belle Fourche was named the center of the nation because of the admission of Alaska and Hawaii to the United States. Once at Devils Tower, they hike around the base of Devils Tower. 👍Come with Stan and Rhonda as they spend their last few days in the great state of South Dakota.

We also had rain at Devils Tower, and never experienced the magical night sky. The sun did peak out a couple of times during our stay. We hiked the tower trail one evening and almost had the place to ourselves. We even got to watch close encounters of the third time. We loved the city of Spearfish, but spent more time in Sturgis. Devils Tower was pretty even in the rain. We did not stop there. The paved trail was so cool. You definitely did a great job of adapting and overcoming during all the rain!

Nice, it looks like the rain wasn’t too bad. You guys got to get out and do a few things. We have been in places that it rained HARD for 4 days straight. As always, you guys are so Smooth, hehehe I have had a Harley Davison for 15 years and NEVER been to Sturges. It’s on my list, next year.

Too bad about all the rain. But I thought Devil’s Tower looked cool with the clouds. I think I read someplace that there was a campground near the base of Devil’s Tower that showed Close Encounters of the Third Kind at night. Did you see anything about that?

Hello Claudia, it’s called Belle Forche River Campground. When we were there it was not open yet. They open on up May 15th. But yes it is a beautiful Campground. We actually stopped at picnic area in front off the campground to let the dogs out. We wanted to sneak in there but the gate was closed. Blessings, Stan and Rhonda

Hey Jeff, we are at the end of our South Dakota trip. This was filmed in the middle of May. There is no way to be caught up because we only post once a week. To stay caught up we would have to three videos a week. Way to much work. I would say three months is normal. So go folks go eight months.

Hi guys! I saw where your 5 gallon bottle was in the corner by your kitchen sink. Do you leave it there when traveling? Do you secure it in any way? We are hoping to use this same system in the future and I've always wondered where/how to store the huge bottle.
