I just want to add.....that am a senior ctzn music teacher based in Delhi , a postgraduate in Music , under TRS mama Delhi Univ.....but hvng a strong penchant fr GNB style of music.....so hv heard MLV Amma both in Del & Chnni. I hv gvn a few performances at Chnni too before 2005!

MLV Amma ws equally at home with pure Carnatic / Film play back singing / Semi Classicals / Folk music / Bhajans / Abhangs / Tillanas & wht not ???...A rare quality among musicians!....& what a repertoire!

Very well said she ws the only musician with an adventurous date devil attitude , but not compromising on our basic principles & rules.......I wd say she ws a walking talking library ...Colossus Genious Legend with immense contribution to the music field as such & yet a great human being......

Ok Murchana in Alaapanai ..not so difficult.....but while singing swaras....in Todi.....as you said rgmdnr/ gmdnrg /mdnrgm/ dnrgmd & finally nrgmdn !.....yielding different ragas......with best support of KK amma on Violin ! What a control precision & restraint......... Purusha daan tanam padauva...nu sollivittu....she excelled in Tanam singing like Tiger VaradaChariar!......Chakra tanam super fast , but resplendent vibrant bright clear brugas......Laddu madiri....🙏

One mlv mesmerizing music in films so many songs rendered nearly all songs I listened every song she has her different voice culture in karnatik how many todi karaharapriya kalyani Bhairavi poorvikalyani others each program with different ideas the rare ragas many many sargagatharagini ragam swaraprestharam mandhari urmika kapinarayani sunadavinodini countless very creative that bruha speed emegination all only for her any thing her throat will sing every concert one new item will be there like todi ragas she touch the nadaswra pudice and mesmerizing us great artist after even her students are not a little bit ok

While the presenters did a great job, I felt they missed many nuances that someone like Sudha Raghunathan or Kanyakumari could have provided.
