Great video, I have that on the back of my canopy, do which sometime we sleep inside the truck. Do you know if with the whale tail has a way to open from inside and not make lockable from the outside when we are inside? Cheers!

Always look forward to your content. I noticed on your last video that you’ve added a hard rock awning to your set up. I’ve just put one on my vehicle but having real difficulty getting it to open! I’ve tried twisting the locks on the side every which way but cannot get the awning to slide out. Any advice would be appreciated. I’d also love to see a review on the awning in the near future. 😉👍🏻

@@explorebound Cheers mate! I would really appreciate any advice on opening it tho? I do believe I have a faulty product and @OutbackEquipment are horrendous to get hold of. Is yours tricky to open? I pop out the side tabs and nothing happens! Had mates look at it with no success either. Any tips as to how you open it would be greatly appreciated ;)

@@paintandpinotinperth7868 Oh that's frustrating! When mine was a bit stuck one time I popped a small flat head screwdriver into one of the sides and sort of levered that side out, once it clicked out I was able to grab it and resume setup as per normal but not ideal.

@@explorebound That’s interesting to know. Ironically I finally got mine to open after taking it off my rack in preparation for collection! Now I’m not sure whether to keep it or exchange it. But all seems ok so far. I’m looking forward to seeing your review on it. I’ve heard a few complaints about it rattling so I’d love to know your thoughts. I haven’t done any big corrugations since I’ve had it. Thanks so much for the reply you legend! 👍🏻

Have a look at the Vector 3 from Industrilås. Comes with and without central locking. No need for padlock do lock the handle in place.

Great Video, I have same canopy, want to swap t-bar for whale tail locks, which ones did you get, I have the MRT central locking as well. Great canopies 😀

These particular locks were from MRT so were a direct swap for the factory T locks (including the keyless entry), I believe they'll be available to the public soon so will pop a link here when I have one. 🙂

Have seen whales handles ripped off with a bar through the lock shackle. A further improvement is using a shrouded lock 👍

Yeah the new ones are from MRT and fit the old T lock cutouts perfectly. The way they mount to the canopy door is a bit different than the T locks (they essentially clamp through the door), so the kit came with blanking plates to cover the factory T lock screw holes for a neater finish.
