I don’t care if she rescued the president, No national service or anything excuses that she let her child die when she could have given her away to be cared for properly. She wasn’t willing to protect and serve for the one person she should care about most. Its their job, but not sure how some Attorneys can keep a straight face while making arguments!

Though I don't disagree with your sentiment, you don't understand what "standing watch" means. I'm a Navy vet. Standing watch in the military simply means doing your job. For example, it if you're an air traffic controller, then performing those duties is "standing watch." If you're a Aviation Anti-Submarine Warfare Operator, then standing watch would be performing those duties. Standing watch doesn't mean just aimlessly walking around base. If she performed well "standing watch" or "during watch," that just means that she was good, punctual, reliable and dependable at performing her job, whatever that job may have been.

This is just a common habit among some mothers. If I wake up at night or as soon as I wake up in the morning, I check on every member in the house. I even find the dog to check what he is doing. Apparently, in this comments section, a lot of mothers get dressed and ready before having to deal with their children.

DCF would’ve conducted a wellness check and seen what was happening and removed her then she wouldn’t have been found in the woods with only 10% of her remains recovered. It seems like something was wrong with that mother mentally and sounds like she was not feeding her before the grandmother funeral. It’s so sad that little girl was taken for just being a child

I keep seeing this. I get what you're saying in this context, but I can't agree with the statement. I have three boys. They've refused to eat dinner because they didn't like it and tried to sneak something they do like later that night. We've grounded them for sneaking out food in that case. Obviously, nothing similar to that situation, but the point remains, if I told a friend my son was stealing food, I'd mean he was skipping his healthy dinner to eat junk from the pantry without our permission.

Of course there are categories of food that are off limits at certain times - like you said, junk food when a meal is being prepared, or like in my house I have a designated DO NOT USE, INGREDIENTS FOR MY PLANNED DINNERS because I don't want to go to make dinner and be missing a crucial ingredient because someone used it lol. I’m from Jacksonville where this happened and I actually just looked up the most recent information on the case. She wrote a letter to the judge asking for a shorter sentence because she plans on opening a trucking business and a tailoring clothing line. She uses the excuse that Taylor’s dad never gave her child support so It was hard for her. She says she’s sorry for lying to the police and not once does she ever say she is sorry for murdering her daughter. This is the kind of person she is, Evil and selfish. Also, the judge immediately denied her motion.

Agreed. Even if they're just eating too much and it's a health problem it's your job to actually parent and not just police rules on them. Simply throwing a rulebook at them makes it them vs. you like school does and ruins relationships.

I didn't know they did this. Very smart move. That takes some serious resources, though. I can't imagine how much an investigation like this costs. From the canvasing, to the interrogations, examining phone records, numerous lab tests, missing persons searches, combing through trash, and locating and identifying remains using specialty equipment and expensive to train animals, it has to easily cost several million dollars if not tens of millions. EDIT: Apparently the University of Iowa has estimated the cost of murder at $17.25M. However, that's the cost "to society" and includes more than just the cost of bringing the offender to justice.

Why do they keep letting criminals out to do more crimes especially now with people of color just because they think somehow its racist to put criminals who are of color in jail like that one guy within 24 hours he killed a black child of 11 years and stabbed his pregnant mother ? I know what happened in times past is horrible but allowing criminals out today because of that and that some how that makes us for the past or punishing regular whites today for the crimes of the past. Can't people ee theres evil in all races and the people today arent the slaves of the past the are free and able to do whatever they want.

Missing kids get massive attention compared to adults. Missing women get more attention than missing men. It's kind of a reverse of how we consider people vulnerable, also, children can't go anywhere on their own volition, so they got lost or something terrible happened.

You need to look at the madeline mccan case from the uk. The most expensive search for a missing child. People claim the police only helped and spent so much due to the parents being wealthy and “white” whilst so many other missing kids cases get no where near the amount of attention or funding. Its become a huge matter of discussion in england. My opinion is the parents were guilty as cadaver dogs indicated smells coming from the parents hotel room in portugal. They accidentally killed her and tried covering it up. They were after all doctors and had access to drugs in which they gave the children whilst on holiday. Sad case

30:25 the fact that BOTH her parents immediately concluded she was lying with no hesitation really says a lot about her character. Edit: didn't expect to come back to a whole debate lol. IMO at the end of the day whether her parents are bad people or not, Brianna was the one who made the decision to neglect and STARVE her child for a prolonged period of time, not them. It is also very probable that Brianna wasn't that close with her parents at all since she was raised by her grandmother and they weren't involved in her life enough to voluntarily check up on their granddaughter in two YEARS. It seems like Brianna's parents weren't emotionally-close with her, which would explain why they didn't give her the benefit of the doubt and immediately accused her of lying. Whether she ever talks or not, she will always have that inner dialogue on a reel in her brain. She had to have been mentally ill in some serious ways. Who just leaves feces in their room and closet? Did she do that to hide the smell or decomposition? Was she just so mentally disturbed that she was somehow into living with feces and trash or was her water shut off? Who knows. She has all the time of her life to remember that sweet little child of God whom she starved to death and neglected severely. And all for what? There was no man in her life saying he didn’t want children or any motive. I just don’t get it. She could have given her to her mom. After all her mom’s mom raised her. This is her “come to Jesus moment” she should be grateful because many who have perished never received medical attention allowing a second chance. Lord have mercy. May she truly see the reality and truth in what she has done and face all of it. May this precious little girl rest in peace in the beauty of heaven where there is no starving or neglect but pure love. God protect our/Your children.

That’s what I don’t get. There was a father, I assume the father had parents, then she had her own mother. Any of those people could’ve taken the child if she didn’t want her. There’s never a reason to harm or neglect your child. If for some reason you don’t love them or want them, give them to someone who does! My husband and I ended up taking a foster child as our own several years ago. He was our oldest sons friend and one day his foster parents called and said “hey, we don’t want him anymore, he’s going back into foster care but we wanted to see if you and your husband want him first.” It was crazy. Like they were giving away a stray cat. He was moved in with us by that afternoon. He flourished under our care and is doing great now. It’s haunting to me to think about what might’ve happened if he’d been dumped in another foster home where nobody wanted him.

Well in the real world this is how 99% of police work is done. Sorry you live in a dystopian shit hole where your people ruined where you live and the police can no longer keep up or care to keep up. Majority of the time normal people take accountability of themselves so that police don’t have to do nearly as much work as this. In my town the only crime people commit is occasionally drugs and speeding. It’s also mostly Mexican and white people

During the pandemic I fostered toddlers. One precious boy would hoard food under his toddler bed. First thing I did was fill several bowls with chips, granola bars, fruit & juice boxes that I left within his reach around the home. Told him he can take whatever he wanted whenever he wanted it. Then I cleaned out his hoard and periodically replaced it with fresh healthy snacks. Didn't take long before he stopped hoarding. RIP Taylor ❤

I'm confused by your description of "Justice". She, either through neglect or direct action, killed her daughter. Now she has life in prison, where we (taxpayers) are providing her with all the basic necessities of life that she denied her daughter. Not only that, we are providing it FOR THE REST OF HER LIFE. Yet there are veterans and children who are stuck living on the street. Ones who DIDN'T murder anyone. This murderer is getting a better life than them. She has her freedom restricted, has to live by prison hours, but how bad is that? What is she paying back to society? She took a young mind that could have just been another cog in the machine or could have been the next Einstein or anything in between out of this world. What is she doing to pay back that debt? Is she working a 9-5 with no pay, just the basic stuff from prison? No, she gets exercise time, outside time, time to read, time to learn a new language, etc, etc. Where is the justice? Not saying she should have died, but why isn't she being made to help society in some way? To do more than live and find enjoyment in her captivity? Yes, I do say "enjoyment", why? She lost her freedom, but what else did she "lose"? She never has to pay taxes, never has to pay bills, worry about where her next meal will come from, worry about losing her living accommodations, doesn't have to do any meaningful work for the rest of her life... Look, I'm sure prison is worse than I am making it out to be, but it still doesn't sound like justice.

Not taking away anything from what the mother did, but there were signs of potential abuse and neglect for so long and it was ignored. So many people failed that little girl. Spotty attendance, family not worried she’s not been seen, the man seeing her wandering alone in the parking lot twice and informing no one, girl waving to him clearly alone. The state of their apartment shows hoarding and insane neglect. You’re telling me no family was aware of the state of the place ? Poop covered clothes, I mean come on! As a parent or human, I don’t understand why her father didn’t call the police to do a wellness check on his own daughter. His excuse for not following up after seeing his daughter emaciated was that Brianna changed her number a lot and moved. She was obviously raised by her Grandparents for a reason yet no one really got in Brianna’s face about this little girl’s well being who they never seen or heard about and was often seen wandering around alone. Just really heart breaking that people didn’t care enough about this little girl’s well being to do more while she was still alive. Sad for the loss of her life and probably feeling alone and uncared for. No child deserves that and it’s not until after she died all this effort was put in to find her. What’s crazy is the military has their own Uniform Code of Military Justice. Which means even if she is sentenced in civilian courts she most likely will be sentenced in the Military Court also. Therefore her sentence should be at the very least exactly the maximum amount the law allows for sentencing of the crimes committed.

The worst part is listening to her sorry ass talk to her friends and try and laugh it all off like people were overreacting. She had no remorse. She tried to off herself because she couldnt handle the humiliation of people knowing the truth, not because she killed her baby. So disgusting. I don't care how messed up her childhood was. Normal people who cant cope might do a lousy job parenting, but they don't murder little kids. She deserves no sympathy.

Right. She was like "I don't get her up because I know she's going to get up and start getting dressed and ready on her own at some point". Wouldn't she need the bathroom too? She also said Taylor put herself to bed at midnight the night before...so she was going to wake up on her own 5 hours later??? WHAT 5 YEAR OLD gets themselves up, and puts themselves to bed every day like an adult? My parents were still making me get up for school in 12th Grade!!! That she expected these two women (likely mothers themselves) to believe she gets up everyday and starts her day without so much as a glance at her child is ludicrous.

What amazes me I haven't read the whole case is that nobody heard her cries in the closet in the house there was somebody who saw her by herself and didn't say anything how do you think they should feel? You see something you say something the military I believe gets free childcare so she also had appointments for speech therapy. That was free to the military

Had Brianna not called police, I doubt anyone would have discovered the child was dead. No one seemed to care. Not the father, the grandparents, the Navy co-workers or neighbors. No one would be the wiser. Imagine if she had said nothing and sold her car and had the first apartment professionally cleaned. Also starving to death is a terrible way to die. Her neighbors saw the child roaming around but never called Child Protective Services. Also strickingly this woman was a Chief Petty Officer. How in the hell, did someone with this type of psychological profile get promoted? No one cared for this child.
@AnnieAnnieBuckwheatCakes
@AnnieAnnieBuckwheatCakes 7 ай бұрын
I can answer how she was promoted. In the Navy, there are 2 factors to a promotion for an enlisted person: your evaluations by your superiors & the test results on an exam of the knowledge of your rate or job specialty. I imagine Brianna presented as a professional at work but was a different person when it came to her daughter.

Not true well at least most of the time. “Stealing” is meaning they ate something that was off limits. Parents are allowed to have a treat for themselves. Kids don’t get to have their treats and your treats. That’s how you have kids to grow up that don’t understand boundaries and won’t respect you. We don’t need anymore entitled people. This is obviously not the case.

@@TheReaper42069 I don’t think missed what I’m trying to say. What I’m saying isn’t dangerous to a chill and it would cause emotional damage. Kids need to know what’s theirs and what not. If you given them everything than they will expect that’s how the world is. Look how kids turnout to be spoil brats and entitled adults. “Off limits” means “off limits”. A parent should be allowed to have somethings for themselves. You’re probably the type that caves in when a kid cries when they want a toy or want to eat out. You’re acting like I’m punishing them. I’m saying you need to teach them about boundaries. As long as their is a bunch of food for them to eat I don’t see the problem. This case when she said “steal” she was talking about all the food. That’s f**ked up. She wasn’t teach the daughter “no means no” or “off limits” or “this one is for me”. She was starving the poor girl.
