This old church was founded by the pioneers of the community in 1828. The current church was built in 1854, housing a growing congregation in the also growing community. The church closed down at some point in the late 1990s or early 2000s, but seemed to have new life breathed into it in 2010, when a new community group took over. Photo Gallery: freaktography.com/exploring-a-168-year-old-vacant-and-abandoned-church/ Unfortunately, this was short-lived, and the church hasn't seen a service in several years, with the exception for a wedding that took place there late in the summer of 2015. A mouldy corsage still remains from that day, as do the programs and decorations. Since the 2015 wedding, there have been a few visitors to the church, based on a guest book in the lobby, and it is still powered. A website states that the church is available for celebrations and special events, the church is open to everyone at all times and never closes. You may find that watching the video - ain't nobody using this old church for nothing! Hi, where is this church located. Is this in Ontario, Canada by chance?
@ckswat77zz512 жыл бұрын
How refreshing that it’s not tagged, looted, vandalized, windows all shattered etc. Churches used to left open on purpose. How interesting this church is left open. I wonder who’s paying the electric bill. It says a lot for that area that this place isn’t being ruined, except for Mother Nature. Take care Dave.

That church was probably one of the pillars of the community it was n People were christened, married and had their funerals in places like this. A church this old has many stories to tell

They are magic because you can see through the colour. I was given a tour of a church that had been converted to a home. Maybe someone will buy this one and do the same, they make beautiful homes.

Wonder why it is used so rarely though, or just in the middle of nowhere now? Love these abandoned places. All that coffee, to keep the people awake. Wonder how often people come just to look around. RIP to the mouse who went to the loo but couldnt get out again. 12:15

About the whole abandoned police thing and showing that cobwebs means it’s abandoned doesn’t mean shit… it’s still owned by someone and you are trespassing wether you like to hear it or not you are… absolutely cool looking at the place and I’d probably try exploring it too but my point is just because there’s cobwebs doesn’t mean it’s abandoned.

I liked this old place!! Nice layout and beautiful stained glass (sure hope it doesn't get ruined). Might be neat to think of it being renovated and lived in. Not much in the way of bathroom facilities for the number of folks that could fill the pews. Bet there was some good dinners served up there.

Some people watch their videos on actual desktops with real speakers. You're not the only one, but why do a lot of Tubers start off at a normal volume , then slam the volume up on the intro so it can be heard from the ISS?

Awesome introduction!!! Loved it! I liked how everything all came together, you are very talented in many ways. That was the way they built some churches back in that time. Almost reminded me of my great grandpa's church he built in Adams County but it still has services. Most churches are open to the public. I think they are very interesting. To bad they are letting this one go. Nice find my friend!

This is a nice little church. It’s a shame they don’t use it anymore. What a waste. That thing that you called a display case on the alter is actually the tabernacle we’re they keep the host for communion where we receive the host. This is in the Catholic religion. I was a Eucharistic minister for many years. We help the priest giving out communion during the mass. I have to say I love the new intro. Dave I never knew you were such a great drummer. It’s really good and has a nice beat. You are multi talented, a great drummer and a great explorer. It’s a nice church and it’s too bad they don’t use it anymore. With all those cobwebs who wouldn’t believe that this church is abandon? Another great explore and stay safe out there.
@suzannewojtkowiak43292 жыл бұрын
I too thought the display case held what looked like what was used for communion in my church many years ago. My mother was a deacon and I used to help get it ready.

What is a magic marker called? Also, permanent pens are also referred to as "Magic" (from a famous pen brand name). In Iran, felt-tip pens are referred to as "Magic" or "Highlight" regardless of its brand. Magic Marker because of its ability to mark on almost every surface.
