From the lectern journal in the Forgotten Minecraft World video this one is a follow-up of: "(...)the door creaked open, revealing a man. He was tall and pale and dark and cold(...)I asked him what his name was. He responded with mine". So, even if that's taken as a metaphor, Garfilled spent this entire video literally hiding from himself. The journal from the first vid also goes into detail about how Garf woke up to a fire alarm going off and smoke coming into his room, but he just laid there. It also doesn't mention him trying to warn anyone else in the house. I don't think all of this is JUST a metaphor for depression. I think Garf did something (or rather, didn't do something) he feels guilty for, really guilty; so guilty that he'd rather forget than remember, and now the guilt is so dense that not only has it gotten him stuck, but it's also warping the place he's been stuck in. Garfilled doesn't want to be The Harbringer (an ENTITY, not a player). He doesn't want his friends on Redacted SMP to have to deal with the other entities drawn to him. He doesn't mean for the people near him to be burned because of the way he is. But they will be. I think you are very near the mark. It definitely feels like more than a metaphor with the overlayed images and scenes from the real world. Possibly in some way this world was a way he escaped from the trauma earlier in life, and upon revisiting he is reliving the trauma somehow, but I definitely think your explanation is far more complete

It is depression most of the time. But here's another theory: It could be the loss of someone inducing a fear of the unknown when alone. It's a fear of the dark. It's the reoccurrence of something you wanted to do, but never will. You know this place, and it tortures you. You don't want to be here but you can't go anywhere else, because you've gotten used to how it is. The melting is your sanity deteriorating from not knowing what to do. The fallen figure is an imagination of how you'd look when you're dead, and you go away because you don't want to think about that. You try to remember your past, but only end up with the same results, you have no actual memory, only a faint image of your fears.

Also, the person was writing while they were burning and leaving it there, it shows an immense connection to the place, as even as they were suffering they couldn't let go. The character mentions that they will always be here even when they die.

Yes, I think this is a part of the large web, and the web stops in only one place, the catalyst. See the "Garfilled was here"? It's symbolic. It was actually shown in many of his videos, and in the [REDACTED] SMP, it was revealed that Garfilled is "The Catalyst," a being that attracts negativity and everything shown in this channel to it. It leaves the sign "Garfilled was here" wherever it goes and brings chaos, tho it doesn't do it in his knowledge.

My best guess as to what this video is supposed to be is probably something to do with guilt or regret. The house in the video may have been their childhood home as it is represented by a first house. The creature may represent the guilt or regret, as it followed the character. The book describing something in their skin may be another reference to guilt as if it’s like a parasite you can’t get rid of. Maybe the character committed arson or didn’t but felt responsible and so the memory of their childhood home has become a personal hell in which they are forced to relive the day they watched someone die, the corpse in the basement. I also believe this video also refers to how people bury memories away to protect themselves. The signs that say, “yesterday will be a good day,” also refer to regret, and how the character wants to go back.

Genuinely terrifying stuff lol. Honestly so impressive how you take something so simple as Minecraft and make it so horrifying. The realistic images interpersed with the familiarity of Minecraft's graphics and little sounds like the chest opening is so well done and SO unsettling.
