@@patrickwu6052 Yes I remembered once serpentza boasting that he knows more about Chinese culture than Chinese people ourselves. I used to watch serpentza's earlier videos about China and his initial videos contain both the positive and negative aspects of China in a fair and balanced manner. However over the years, serpentza has changed and his latest videos about China have been largely negative in nature.

@Brandy Wasay It's your opinion, just like it's my opinion. serpentza says some things that are obviously untrue, like how Chinese people care absolutely nothing for our children, and only pursue money. Many Chinese parents work hard to save money to send their kids to attend school for a better future, but serpentza just generalise Chinese as being money hungry.

Of course not. There was no 'China' until the Chin Nation took over and conquered the others and then you have your first unified nation of Chin-a some 2200 years ago. This would be the beginning of what we know today as a unified broad 'country' or nation after Qin Shi Huang mass-murders and utterly destroyed the other cultures and people, today called 'Genocide' then establishes national weights, measures, official languages and laws, national policies etc. Of course, that China (Chins China) collapsed and was taken over by Han who again establish one unified identifiable people, culture and nation we can call 'China' and then that would collapse, that China would break up into distinct different states and really entirely separate nations and even those would merge, meld, die off, reunify and so on. But China as a properly identified single unit, a whole nation is 2200 years old. Of course we all know China was undone, dismissed and declared dead and to be killed and buried and now the new China is just 71 years old aka 'The PRC' that replaced China. Happy 71 years old China!

Thanks Matt and Gweilo60 for introducing us to Sanjiang 三江, what a beautiful place. Would love to visit this place someday soon, especially when it's still authentic. I'm just afraid that once this place is promoted to 5A tourism, they'll start the 'old new' (or is it the 'new old'?) process, start commercializing everything, then this place will loose it's original charm.

It is a very strange phenomenon that foreigners in China prefer to go to the south of China. The film is also about rice fields, rivers, and farmers working with bamboo hats.I admit these films show China, but this Hollywood stereotype of China is very consistent.China is very big. For example, my hometown is in an industrial city in Northeast China. The cultural and geographical environment there is very different from that in southern China.

Many of these villages undergo conservation works to retain history and culture. In days of old modern utilities are non existence like gas, electricity, pipe water; paved roads and bridges. The old structures were modified to accommodate these utilities, improved hygiene and the citizens general livehoods. Those villages or township that has no historical or cultural values were demolished to make way for new buildings and infrastructure. Some of these changes faces criticism from the west and viewed or perceived as violations of human rights esp in Xinjiang and Tibet.

I have a strong feeling that I would be supported in the following statement by most of your followers. Here it goes. When you are telling us something, in fact, anything, instead of pointing the camera at your face (a common mistake of many, many videographers who think that all we want to see is their face from biiiig closeup and you do that my friend about 50% of the segment time), please show us anything around you instead and speak only BEHIND your lenses and I guarantee you that your subscribers will increase in great numbers or you will make your videos just more watchable.
