It's just a water drain. Otherwise the bunker would fill up, during heavy rain. Thanks for filming Dustin. 😁👍🏼😁👍🏼

@doreebardes5537Ай бұрын
You've teased us, now you have to go back. I concur with the other commenters that that's probably a drainage hatch you found. But still, go back with tools and food, cook up a nice stew (tis the season, right?) and have an overnighter. Always look forward to your discoveries.

Who digs a bunker in a established forest, if you don't need to? Digging around and chopping roots sucks. Nobody in a bomber is going to notice a small mound, in a huge landscape next to the woods. Plus, during a bombing do you want huge trees falling on top your bunker, damaging it or perhaps trapping you inside? Also, not a tunnel or trap door, drainage so it won't fill with water during a rain.
@shaunwild8797Ай бұрын
It's an Auxiliary unit bunker. It was built for British soldiers to hide in if the Germans ever invaded Britain. It's for the resistance against the occupying German forces and not for protection from bombs being dropped by planes.
@JaenEngineeringАй бұрын
Could it be some form of drain? Seems like something that would be a good idea to prevent flooding during heavy rain...

I was wondering what happens when it rains. Does the place always flood? Is there a drain somewhere? Was there some kind of cover over the stairs area that’s destroyed like the vent/escape exit? Anybody know?

Cornbeef Hash with potatoes or some thing with Spam, looks interesting lets hope it is not another drain, if you had found that up near the coast of Scotland I would have been more exited as the Yanks left a lot of hidden catches of gear behind, well buried.

Wartime Meal in a WWII Bunker: MREs. The guys at Jolly tried them from all over Europe and it looked like France was best and Poland second for a WWII meal. If you want the very best, they say Korean MRE's. If you are that adventurous: Korean Army Camp soup- budaejjigae. Korean Englishman went to a British Army base and made several pots for different ranks. spoiler, the Officers took the left overs home, they liked it so well.

Bring an offset pointing trowel & a 2 inch square trowel hand tool something to extricate the metal lid and a bucket to haul out soil & dump it open up that lid and clear out what's underneath; is it a catch for a drain or something of the like check it out open it up and see what's in the hole find out history from an old local was it a WW2 bomb shelter or a civil defense or some sort of system that's gone by the wayside check out local library or civil defense offices what are these bunker like things history ? Maybe throw in a stiff bristle brush to clean up details in corners
