In this video, we explore two abandoned structures in the middle of England that just about survived major fires caused by vandals that affected their future chances of being saved. Bramcote School in Nottinghamshire and Clayton Hotel in Staffordshire both experienced blazes in 2021, and we were curious to see the aftermath.

What pisses me off is people going into these abandoned places and vandalizing it. By all means, enter the premises and explore it. Why do they have to break everything they see? It's beyond my comprehension.

I’ve seen some great buildings that I’ve explored getting partially or totally destroyed by fire later on. It’s a real shame because these vandals and arsonists ruin these places for everyone. That’s why when you find an interesting place of interest it’s important to explore it as soon as you can, because you never know when it might not be there any more, or parts of it will be rendered inaccessible due to the damage.

Hi guys! 2 great explores. Fire can be terrifying and it leaves behind some very eerie looking, but also interesting, sights. The school and also the hotel in this video being great examples. Very interesting. Thanks for the video!

What a great insight into the sad demise of these buildings lads. When I was watching the first part with the school, I felt very sad at the sight of the damaged building which was strange considering I was never a lover of school, but it did hit me the impact that a school has on so many in a community being brought to an end in this wasteful way due to vandalism way! The hotel was unfortunately yet another sad victim of the pandemic but in this day and age of people shouting about the environment being damaged, you would think that more would be done to secure these buildings and then have them repurposed rather than wasting resources building new ones. Thanks for a great video.

It was so likely that they could have bee repurposed if the fires hadn't took place, which is the saddest part, for sure.

I feel those responsible for the fire should be made to finance any repairs/demolition works if identified. They will not, of course, be able to afford to do so, but they can still be saddled with lifelong insurmountable debt as a reminder to both themselves and others that arson is a serious crime with serious consequences.

Really enjoy your videos. I grow up in Newcastle under Lyme close to the Clayton lodge, went many a Christmas/wedding/birthday do there in the past. It is soon to be knocked down for new houses to be built on the site. Thank you for video and bringing back some great memories. X

My IT GCSE coursework survived a fire at my school literally in the other room with mere smoke damage when thugs set the computer room alight. The whole thing had to be gutted and rebuilt. I would have left the school by the time it was rebuilt and put back into use.

I've never understood why people do this sort of thing (assuming these fires were started deliberately), how would they feel if someone went into their house and set it on fire leaving them standing there watching it burn 😐

Hi Alistar how are you doing? Real shame what's happened to both of these buildings the hotel and the school this is what some of these silly vandals will do unfortunately for fun both big buildings too I can tell why they left most of the stuff in the school and the hotel due to being soo unsafe to go in there big up to you taking the risk and showing us how damaged the both places got after the fire great video as always Alistar hope your having a good day so far 👍

What you see in most of the more intact rooms and areas that are partially burnt, is smoke and water damage. In a fierce fire, the smoke and heat can be insanely hot, rise, and travel across the ceiling. Hence why some of the notice boards are only burnt at the top. Sometimes a flash over can occur. The stuff and equipment left behind is just a sheer waste. Most of that will remain where it is and be demolished with the building. I did an explore years ago, just up the road from me at an old school which had been half demolished already. I managed to salvage some lighting equipment in a half crushed school hall. Perfect stuff that would have been destroyed the following day. So sad that these places don't get emptied of valuable items before they bite the dust.... Shame on the authorities that own these buildings, and the contents... Word of warning ⚠️ These places are extremely unsafe. Enter at your own risk! Hard hats and safety boots are essential. And remember, you are not covered or permitted to be there. You are trespassing. No one will hear you scream. Just be mindful of your own safety when mooching about!

so annoying as a current science teacher to see all the equipment just left when it could be used in another school, although it's kinda crazy it hasn't been knicked

This is what we always think! Why would a school not just pass their unused equipment to charity, or another nearby school

What's the deal with the proof of age posters for people under 25? What can't you buy if you're under 25?
@kpurban1310
@kpurban1310 Жыл бұрын
It's a common thing in the UK. Usually Alcohol, and Tobacco are 18+ products so the 25 scheme is for stores or bars to ask for ID if you look under 25.
@patrolmaverick
@patrolmaverick Жыл бұрын
Sounds like a strange policy. So you don't actually have to be 25 to buy anything??

Some countries ID every adult regardless, even if obviously a pensioner, which is not practical in Britain, the challenge 25 scheme means if a customer looks under 25 they have to prove their age to staff which might be 18 or more, 16 for some items, applies to all restricted items, eg painkillers, lottery tickets, lighter refills, scratch cards, computer games, knives, fireworks, ages will vary for these. If customer looks over 25 purchases are approved with no ID required.
