I don't know if you guys realize this or not but I used your asylum videos... And a few other type of videos you guys have, to inspire and educate people...😢😢 IF IT REALLY IS FREAKING SAD TO SEE THESE BEAUTIFUL BUILDINGS SIT UNUSED AND WASTED... After our great-grandparents paid for these things to be built to take care of the people in our society that are mentally ill.... They should have never been shut down and I believe it was a part of the New world order plan to create chaos in the streets.... Literally sabotaged our country by taking these beautiful hospitals away... They said the modern medicines we're so advanced they were enough to take care of these people...😢 THEN THEY MAKE THE MEDICINES ILLEGAL TO PRESCRIBE... I'm not making that up.. You wonder why our country is in such degradation??... It was deliberate... But guess what guys... WE ARE THE NEW AMERICA... AND ALL OF US TOGETHER... EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US.. WHETHER IT BE BLM, PROUD BOYS, ANTIFA or just everyday people... We all want our country to be great again❤... WE WANT TO LOVE OUR COUNTRY AND BE PROUD OF IT... So we have to fix it... The world's a mess right now and were the cleanup.. God bless you 🙏

Evidently, Brian's going to be the first to die. Thoughts of "foolish" and "stupid" came to mind, but I settled on "adventurous". 😸 I would never do that, but I'm thrilled to watch videos taken by explorers willing to take the risk. Yes, I think I've found the word: "explorers". They're the ones that are always dying, be it in an abandoned building or at the South Pole. There's something glorious, passionate about such quests. Now I'm feeling guilty for, in my tiny way, encouraging you. But you'd do it if I was here or not. So I might as well enjoy the show while saying a little prayer to whatever gods there may be: That they may keep you safe to pursue your beautiful endeavor.

Whats sad is the fact that much of this site is scheduled for demolition with only the main admin building (building with reconstructed roof ) and about five other smaller buildings. That leaves about 85% of the historic registered building to be demolished. The patient wings and everything else will be replaced by housing. The site of the former 1950s building has already been redeveloped as a shopping center with a price chopper and a few more generic stores.

Your channel was one of the first I can remember having ever watched in the urbex realm, and thus it introduced me to the genre. Little could I have realized at the time, then, that it would set the standard for the quality of destinations explored, videography and aesthetic sensibilities, audio quality, and attempting to present relevant context and an informed perspective about the places you're visiting. Your hutzpah continues to be remarkable. Did anyone notice that at 15:05 the wreckage of the floor above is being held up only by the electrical cables? If those had snapped, it could have been catastrophic. In other news, it seems that the current owner plans to try and salvage at least part of the structure for future redevelopment. At the very least, it would be nice if some of the materials could be salvaged and find new life in the newer buildings that go up on the site.

Thanks for telling the tale of my home town’s best-loved ruin. I’m so happy you guys got to experience it at different seasons. This is what started my love of photographing urban decay. Friends and I used to run around here years ago, ducking from security when they were actively patrolling the buildings with motion sensors. The rec center and powerhouse were standouts, especially with the power still whirring away. The rec center had a two-lane bowling alley and spacious Olympic size pool. I remember a chair just chillin’ in the deep end. There was a theatre in the center-back of the grounds that had a massive chandelier, hung with toilet paper and a very small chapel next to it with pews and an organ, virtually untouched. The modern hospital buildings were super unique with rounded wings…it was always such a fascinating thing to see them standing silently in the distance, tagged atop by Evak, anytime I was shopping in the plaza, or driving down Rt. 9 hoping for a glimpse of the glorious Kirkbride.

WOW, wait, that is understatement. Amazing place, too bad it's all going to go away. You guys are a little crazy in some of those parts, you are taking your life in your hands for these videos sometimes. Glad to see no one was hurt. Crazy for sure...

Another outstanding job, guys. Michael, I'm with you about those damn planks! I could never do that, never even go into a bldg this collapsed, that's terrifying! But extremely pathos-inducing, and a stark illustration of several themes: the eventual triumph of nature over the man-made, and of how mental disorders used to be approached many years ago vs. how they are now, and how little need we have for complexes like this. But it always just befuddles me, how we create beautiful buildings like these and then just abandon them to nature rather than re-using -- even if the re-using is just recycling materials like bricks and stonework and scrap metal. Really enjoyed the length of this one, too, and of seeing the locations from similar angles at different seasons. Kudos, and thx!

So much mystery. Must have been beautiful architecture. Love the crows in the background. I just am amazed how broken down it is. Bad roof?

Wow, glad I was able to join that tour from the safety of my couch :) A friend (and fellow subscriber) and I were just discussing how we thought that Michael and Bryan weren't taking as many chances as time has gone by, and understandably. That theory has gone right out the window now tho lol.

I LOVE the History sections at the beginning of the video as well as the historical pictures and drawings, PERFECT for visualizing what once was and now is.
