I always wonder how and why these buildings are just abandoned like this, like one day everyone just stopped what they were doing, walked out and never came back. I'm also impressed that a building abandoned for 6 years still has electricity.

Schools have to keep all student files under lock and key for privacy. The safe is probably where they kept all current and former student records

Those weird humming boxes with the yellow dial inside are timers, usually by a company called Intermatic. It’s for turning on and off lights in commercial buildings typically. You just set a lever on the dial for what time to turn on, and another lever for when to turn off, it’s all mechanical/analog.
