I've commented elsewhere on a couple of your other videos. This one got me thinking about when I was a kid, even as young as 8 or 9, that I would explore houses and buildings near where I lived in Scotland. Life was carefree and I just loved exploring. Perhaps it wasn't the best thing to do because people were still living in some of the houses. ;) I wandered through old train carriages, found a tunnel alongside a burn (I later learned it was a civil defense building), old farm buildings, and a castle (before it got tourist-ized). Out here in the wilds of western Canada, I get a chance once in a while to explore old places when a friend and I go on photo expeditions. These are old ranch houses last used maybe 50 to 80 years ago. Just saying, good on ya for having the gumption to go exploring. Isn't it great to have cameras that make videos better than films of a hundred years ago. As always, be safe.

David Butterworth 3 minutes ago (edited) This hotel used to be rather 'upmarket' in the 1960s. The daily tariff was 35 shillings (1.75), BB and Evening meal Most of the hotels at the time were charging around £1 full board, the cheaper end, which as a family was what we could afford. I remember my father letting me choose a hotel from the holiday brochure and he instructed me to find a selection, but to limit the choice to those around £1 and no more than 21 shillings ( £1.05 in today's decimal coinage ! ) I used to think - Hotel Ambassador - wow- that's for rich people! The decline began around ten years ago and I think it became a place for DSS people; eventually squatters. 1 A Walk on the Wild Side

I had the misfortune to stay in the Ambassador about 8years ago. I was booked out from the President. As a coach driver, that happens sometimes. The place was a rundown dump then. It was overdue for demolition even then.

You were lucky you didn't tread on any needles as that place was a well-known drug den.
