Things I noticed when exploring Arkusius Keep. #1, In Rackham's Journal, it explains a vibrant, glowing teal light, from what I have seen, if you look straight up, you actually see that same teal light. #2, In Rackham's Journal, it also explains that their body was charred black, this could be relating to the secret area of Arkusius, where you are surrounded by black skeletons. More to come, maybe?

i have a theory, it said in the captain's journal that there was a "a black teal wisp" or something along those lines, that sounds like something we already know. could it be that akursius keep was attacked by a death curse user? we already know according to the old trello that the death curse causes insanity to both the user and the target. (we know what the death curse looks like from when morden fought julius.)

It's mentioned in dialogue in game (it's unskippable, so unless you sped through it you should've seen it). I remember that it was a curse, but I don't think it was the death curse. It's only haunted because it was a massacre.

@@sirmonke8946 Looking closer into this, i've noticed that when you have insanity 5, blue and black flames start appearing. This confused me even further, because this cannot be the death curse due to it looking completely different from what morden uses against julius. Maybe it's actually just a sort of flame made by pure insanity? Maybe the purple flames that appear occasionally when you're insane are connected to this. Too many unanswered questions for now

@@no0bm You also get insanity 5 from the dark sea, so that can't be specific to this area. The specific curse that was used to destroy th place was mentioned, but I just forgot.

@@no0bm We don't really know the full capabilities of the death curse so maybe it still can be a death curse attack. When you find the spot with the dark skeletons, it has some kind of purple mist surrounding it that gives inflicts some kind of purple fire, leading me to belief that the area in question is some kind of doorway to the underworld that was opened by the attack and the purple fire killing you is the souls trying to drag you to hell. It explains the whispers that you hear as they are the souls communicating and the red ghosts. Additionally, the other results of the "insanity" effect can be attributed to the mortal minds being unable to comprehend the underworld, kinda like cosmic horror.

you mean the island? cuz if so then that is too much for me to think in a second like the first king broke that place and neviro is from there still surviving and it was destroyed and thats why evil came there and its destroyed and innocent people died and they haunt it and thats why insanity and the weird feeling the captain and crew felt SPIRITS or GHOSTS and the secret place is all the souls and the place where the insanity and feeling comes from and there are the skeletons which are of winterveil people who died and they haunt everyone but mostly ravenna people and the fortress is to dominate that place and they haunt cuz theyre innocent and they cant forgive the king and cant accept death and idk i cant think rn cuz all the thoughts and the souls didnt want the crew to leave thats why the captain lost strenght on there cuz the souls wanted to make them insane and the black and teal light is maybe a sea curse or the force of ravenna or death itself or maybe winterveil people trying to get revenge on ravenna and it so happened on the captain or something we might get a quest (hopefully) to clear that place of the souls and help the captain remember and become human again. pls devs the crazed man maybe is the old man in the mines or maybe tucker - the guy that died at the start of game and morden made grave for or maybe neviro or some kind of winterveil person or some other person from the mines or something else i cant think of rn thanks for reading if u did and if u didnt then thanks for skipping my theories and i spent prob alot of time typing this and u make me sad anyways have a great day
