Hey Sky, I’ve been enjoying your videos for a while. I enjoy your adventures and discoveries. I really appreciate your vulnerability and healing. You actually introduced me to Yes Theory with the Wim Hof video. It was a while later that I thought I had discovered Yes Theory/Seek Discomfort and became a fan. I’ve had a lot of challenges my whole life, including physical health. I’ve studied and tried a lot of things. What I understand about the blue zones really make sense with what I’ve learned including the science. Food, movement, enjoyment, community, meaning, etc. This month I’ve actually started doing Wim Hof’s breathing and some cold exposure on a daily basis along with some other things for the first time. It seems like it’s doing something that has never worked before. I think I’ve got an interesting life story, if you are ever interested. Also, it was extra fun to watch your videos in Sedona, where I lived for 15 years and seeing some of my friends including Rahelio and Troy Casey. What a nut!

As a former SDA, this video brought back a lot of memories. My parents met an Loma Linda and for the first few years of my life we lived right next door to Loma Linda. We still go out and visit all the time and it is true, as much as the religion has its problems (like all religions do), the sense of community and a healthy lifestyle was truly something that I have never been able to get rid of and I’m so thankful to have grown up with those things.

I think that older people really thrive if they live in caring and loving communities. Many people start slowly dying (as harsh as it may sound) when they stop working and deteriorate at a faster pace. Living in a community where you’re not lonely and have mental and physical stimulation might even be of greater benefit than clean eating. Imagine being old and still having people around you that challenge you mentally on a daily basis, instead of vegetating in front of mindless tv programmes.

Italy and Japan have something to say to these people about their staunch opposition to alcohol. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from virtually everyone who’s lived past 80 (including my own profession as a bartender in a small town) daily consumption of alcohol seems to be one of the biggest keys to longevity.

Unfortunately, not all diseases can be prevented by a healthy lifestyle. I never took drugs, used to be a rescue swimmer and studied at university. Unfortunately I got a chronic illness and lost my life. It can happen to anyone. And no eating XY doesn't cure my chronic illness. But I understand it's easier to assume if you live healthy it can't happen to you.

Well I for one don't get the reilgious stuff but I think the thing about the Community is a good point also something many people seem not to see is that often people in those communities work even in high age ! I have seen people detoriate so fast after finaly getting pension because they stopped doing stuff, like one former coworker had dark hair till the last day in his job, 2 month later I saw him having completely white hair. Have seen several of those vids about Okinawa and also stayed on some of the Okinawa Islands for a while while on working holiday and I can tell you that some of those 90+ years olds work harder then some young people in most other places.
