As a Jordanian who grew up in Amman, I am so grateful for your video! You have went beyond only aesthetics and have really taken the time to interact with locals and to try and understand/communicate with them. Heart warming to see you have experienced and portrayed how warm and kind many people are in this city and how hospitable they can be to tourists.

Nothing against my country Jordan and without offending my people or scare tourists, but i am a Jordanian living in Jordan my entire life, and even then i still wont go around walking around wondering without knowing EXACTLY where am i going and who am i meeting. I really Really enjoyed watching the video, because even tho i am a local but still the thrill and the spirit of exploration and not knowing where you are going, what are you going to do next, and meeting and spending time was really interesting to watch. best of luck to you :D

Hi Will! Thank you for making this video, it made my day. Your Arabic is great for the amount of time you've been learning! Don't get frustrated, I noticed you were speaking fusha Arabic, not ammi; that's where the confusion happens with locals. Going in blind with no map or phone is a genius way to experience a new place, will be trying that when I next travel! :)

Hey man, I just stumbled across your channel, and I noticed that usually, when foreigners visit the Middle East, they are scared and only go to touristy areas. Thank you for giving us a chance and experiencing it firsthand for yourself. I am from Palestine (Ramallah, West Bank), and hopefully, you can visit our country one day. The people here are friendly and similar to Jordanians, who are mostly Palestinian immigrants displaced due to the occupation. If you ever visit the West Bank, I highly recommend checking out Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Ramallah, and Nablus. You’ll experience amazing hospitality and find many religious holy sites for all three Abrahamic faiths, visited and cherished by millions of people each year. I hope you stay safe and enjoy the rest of your travels wherever you go. P.S. Your Arabic isn’t that bad-I understood you well! Also, tea, coffee, and sweets are usually offered for free when you enter shops, so don’t be surprised if you don’t have to pay. Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the advice! The purpose of this video was to find out things for myself and force myself to talk to the locals. I think next time I would like to travel around with a local the day after and see how the experience compares. Thanks for watching :)

Hope you enjoyed, Jordan is awesome. Happy to hear you got to visit the West Bank & AlQuds. I second what @dukedracula said! This is great content, and you're doing well with the Arabic! Barring any major geopolitical turbulence, I feel you'd be able to safely navigate most of the MENA region (excluding Libya, Yemen, certain parts of Lebanon and Syria-these demand due diligence and some good timing).

Loved the entire video and your commentary, Jordan is a small yet rich country, just like the rest of the Middle East, and it is so sad for me as a Jordanian when I see angry chants in Britain about us. You give me hope man, you're a really smart and ambitious, please stay so. I enjoyed the video so much, please keep it up.

Thanks so much for your comment, the people chanting these things are very uneducated and misled by the media... Im glad you enjoyed the video. The middle east is quite a misunderstood part of the world and I'm happy to shed light on that 🙂🇯🇴
