The machine in the attic of the building with the bolt bins is a seed cleaner. My dad was the maintenance man for our county Farm Bureau Cooperative. Helped him work on their cleaner when I was a kid in the 70s.

Just a guess, since I have no idea what livestock may have been on this farm... But, I'm guessing that the building @ 2:00 mark, possibly could have been a sheep shearing barn. The way that the stalls are laid out, and the height of the interior panels, is very similar to how my grandparent's sheep shearing barn was (pre-1970).
@barbfrank917 Жыл бұрын
It also looks like a pig barn, we had on the farm when I was a kid

Already liked and subscribed, but I sure do appreciate you taking us along. I grew up in an area a lot like yours and I've been in southern California for 30 years. I explored back then and I would again but I'm not built the same now and I know too much about danger. And you're right, going down a sketchy staircase is way scarier, even if climbing up is usually harder. And I understand looking at the buildings and dreaming. We're currently house shopping and seeing that big old house left to rot really hit home... no pun intended. Lots of room, big screened porch, detached garage, not too close and not too far from town. Nice. And absolutely destroyed.

Grain bins, not buildings, silos were used to hold green field corn & grass/Alfalfa silage to feed dairy/beef cows. Tower averages 100' tall. Too bad you can not take steel bldgs. down in sections on low boy & erect on your site. Thanks for old time video.

Well the shot you did good with the drone was quite peaceful. Thanks for taking this inside buildings to get a look at them. I kind of Wonder with all those feed sacks about the foods cycle. You know you got the bugs because of the grain like you said the mice and the rats. Raccoons snakes Nucor somewhere out there you coyotes and owls. Some danger but some perfect wildlife video if you can get it. Even if they would let you back in you know they probably want you to have a million dollars and insurance just to take down that structure. But like you said a great video.
