If you have the extra cash, like 30 bucks or so, you should probably invest in a voltage detector tool that you can hold up to wires and it'll tell you if they're live. Walking into an area with dangling wires can be really dangerous, and the detectors are basically small enough now to be shaped like a large pen you can keep in your pocket. If you hold the tester up to a metal conduit and get a response from it, it's dangerous to even touch the conduit with your bare hands.

So Oklahoma has an amazing abandoned hospital to explore. Griffin Memorial hospital was built in the early 1900s and was only shut down around 10ish years ago. The majority of the hospital specialized in the insane and performed operations such as lobotomy’s. It is also considered haunted. The building has no electricity but lights are seen flickering and many frightening things have happened to people there, I know some personally. It’s not secluded though and could be dangerous to explore. I know people who have found the morgue and operating rooms and have video. The majority was funded by the free masons and is liked to their history. An abandoned Masonic chapel is next to the hospital. Could make a great bumps in the night video.

A lot of the large campus set ups have a main power supply that comes in from the utility and is metered there and then is split up after the meter by the facility. The attic room with all those files reminds me of an old workplace. Every year the manager would ask the sales team to empty out the shop filing cabinets and put the documents into the 'archive' in the upstairs store room. I was there 5 years and every year they did the same thing. On my last year, I asked the woman I was working with if anyone took any of the stuff in the 'archives' out for recycling. I was concerned because the floors were making quite a creaking sound when we were up there walking about... She said she had been there 14 years and she had always done it as asked without question and never seen anyone take documents down for recycling! I left the company shortly after then, I wonder if the floor finally collapsed under the weight of all those documents! 😕🤐

I question in the legality of those files. Even though they are dated 1995, a year before the HIPAA law was signed by President Clinton, the law applies to the past, present and future medical information of people. I'm not sure, but I think it even applies to people's info after they have died. So if someone had died in 1995 or prior, and their records are there, that's probably a violation of the law as well. The fines for violations of the law are pretty hefty and I think are capped at about 1.5 million a year, but fines are levied for each incident of a violation of the ACT. I would assume each of those files would be a separate violation.

You mentioned that this is part of a larger facility with other active buildings. If so, just my opinion here, but the facility would still be liable for protecting patient files since HIPAA is law right now.

Great explore and those one flourecent tubes that were glowing on just the ends those either had the other filiments burned out or else the startor was bad when those go bad the bulbs will just glow at the ends neat effect and kind of freaky to walk up on in the dark

Love some of the cinematography in this. Like how you do the slow panning away from an object you’re focused on. With the music. Either left to right or forward to back. Such awesome awesome quality too. From 11:35 to 12:10 is a perfect example. Great job guys thumbs up 👍

@peytonweb5 жыл бұрын
I loved the animal scares in this episode, 😂😂😂. Glad the black shadow ended up being a kitty, & also glad that the vulture didn't shit on you, or fly at you. I've heard that they can vomit on you, & their extremely caustic stomach acids will burn your skin. Also, that building is a HUGE liability, & I hope its dealt with, but glad you got to explore it before its gone forever. Another great video of decay!!
@FernandoPartridge5 жыл бұрын
I saw/read somewhere their stomach acids are so strong that their droppings are almost sterile.

I work at a steam co-generation plant for iowa state university. My only question is who is send ing live steam through those pipes and why wasnt the valves to that building shut? Seems like a huge problem just waiting to happen if one of those pressurized steam pipes burst that whole tunnel system will fill up with hot steam.

Why did I read this as abandoned hospital filled with thousands of patient flies. I was legit expecting to see a lot of flies on the wall waiting for people.

mjv literally you can touch something that has asbestos, you can accidentally wound yourself and get infections, things like that. And i wasnt being a bitch, just care about the safety of other so before you be a smartass make sure you do just a bit of digging. Theres a reason gloves exist and its for the protection of yourself.

This building is hauntingly familiar. It looks like where my mother went to nursing school. Obviously, without knowing the location I can't know for sure, but, I've paused on the exterior when possible and that reception area. We visited the old school, that was then an administrative and records building when I was small - about 47 yrs ago. So, can't be positive, but, it is so familiar. I wish mom was alive, she would know for sure.
