When I was a kid in the 60's I'm pretty sure this place sold ice cream on the lower floor front of the house. There were three large wicker globes on poles out from that had strings of lights attached. One commentor mentioned the family having a house boat that was a snack bar moored at Beach Pond in Voluntown. I believe that partially sunk in the late 70'.

My neighbor used to use that place to store equipment and concrete forms. Illegally of course. I used to help him move things in/out of there for size money since they're back was wrecked. You used to be able to get a small truck in/out of there pretty easy.

the building is still there but its something else now and been a few diff things since. a yr or 2 ago a rig drove into it toward the back. headline ";Tractor trailer crashes into restaurant in North Stonington" NORTH STONINGTON, CT (WFSB) - A tractor trailer struck a commercial building in North Stonington, according to state police. Troopers said preliminary information indicated that around 7:50 a.m. Thursday morning, the vehicle hit the building in the area of 386 Norwich-Westerly Rd. The address belongs to the Buon Appetito Ristorante & Pizzeria.

It was built as a tavern on the trolley line to Norwich. Route 2 was as dirt road then . Then it became may other things. I think it ended as a resident in the 1980s .

The bottles in that house were most likely from visitors AFTER the house was abandoned. ALL the construction (wall studs and chimney/fireplace) looks much later than 1920s.
@j-mass11 ай бұрын
Yeah, I’m sure the house has had many renovations since 1927. I’m not even sure if that date is 100% verifiable, as information about this house was scarce, but that was the best date of construction I could find.

Yup on route 2 I always figured the casino owns it now. How about the 2 buildings practically next to it . Not to long ago they were bed and breakfast places. Why did they shut down??? I am assuming the tribe owns them also. Then also on that road same area a house was removed . It looked like a old man lived they. I use to love looking over at it. Now it’s gone . That wasn’t too long ago. Then further down there’s was another house that I think burn’t down. A farm house , it looks like there’s still and shed or outbuilding in the back. That was a cool farm house. I loved looking at it when I drove by. Why did it burn? What happened I always wanted to know. Does the tribe own ever on route 2 or most of it???? Other homes further up near Preston town hall are empty too. How come?

There's an old abandoned house in Lincoln, R.I. (if it's still there) that had a notorious reputation for bad poltergeist activity (I've got first hand experience that it's probably true). It's been there since at least the sixties. If you're headed south on 146 from Woonsocket, you'll see Reservoir Rd on the right. It's on this road on the left. No visible address, but it's at pole#29, if my memory is correct. On wooded lot with small graveyard on the premises. Not visible from the road.
