What I like about older homes like this is that they took the time to make each room it's own. With newer designs it seems like the house is all one

They call it "Open Concept" I call it cheaper & easier for the builder to construct. And more annoying for the home owner to create a unique environment and feel a sense of privacy from whatever.

I love these shows. I just wish whoever owns any of these houses would hire someone or let them live there for just taking care of the places instead of just letting all these beautiful places go to run. I would travel a long ways just to upkeep a home on these shows.

I just love your videos of these wonderful abandoned places! You are so respectful of these properties. You make sure you cover everything of interests in each area. You are steady with filming so I don’t get sea sick! Lol! You are not afraid to ask questions about things you are uncertain about. Your descriptions of wallpaper patterns and textures is very thorough. You take us into the imaginative thoughts of what maybe took place in certain rooms. Absolutely informative and fascinating virtual tours of these once loved and useful properties! Thank you!

What I don’t understand is how people can either afford to let places like this do nothing, or why families who don’t want it don’t give away/sell it before it becomes in such a bad state? I understand when there’s no-one to pass a house on to but these other 2 things I mentioned I just don’t understand why it has to become abandoned and ruins when it was once so beautiful ☹️ thank you BB❤️❤️

@ 05:40, surprised no one has made off with those door handles. Houses built in the 60's like that, often had a kitchen desk area, for things like recipes, cookbooks, Mom type needs for doing household things -- I 'd expect records of appliance purchases, directions, thank you notes, glue, scissors, tape, other light craft items one might use more often, along with that intercom. Hey! Send me that old washer and dryer! Those are GOOD ONES! Late 70's/early 80's, and last FOREVEVER! Look like Sears or Whirlpool, same. Those landings on the staircases? The grand children fit there NICELY! lol! And I'm pretty sure someone took the stair railings on purpose - probably to use again. The removal just looks way too neat. As in BOUGHT IT, not stole it, or a family member took it. Great explore Mr. B, great house!

That was incredibly retro to say the least. I think that the basement was for hanging out. I am sure that the house got a very loving family before but we all must go at some time. It is too bad that it was never developed. Thanks for the Canada series and can't wait to see more videos. Rest up!

Looks like a very solid, well built home for sure. The pool could definitely be rescued. It would be beautiful to witness that as well as cleaning up the grounds. To take this house down would be insane. Just needs a few changes to freshen it up. I pray that whoever buys the property has some knowledge and appreciation for good craftsmanship and retro design. Awesome tour 🤗💌

Hi BB. I love this home. I saw it a few times but it never gets old. Classy home. The windows/sliders alone besides everything else, must have cost a fortune. Maybe the wood paneled room was a study. I ❤ the staircase and the funky wallpaper. I was born in the 60s, grew up in a trailer, then my dad built a house, which was worth 100,000. Had fancy curtains, shag carpet in my room and downstairs. I miss it. Had to sell it. Mom and dad divorced, mom couldn't afford to keep it.😢

My mom and dad divorced too, I was 7. I wish parents would stop to consider just how much a divorce affects the children. I thought my dad didn't want me anymore (as did my brother and sister) and I blamed myself. I've struggled with those feelings my entire life. Now, as an adult, I can see that it wasn't my fault. (Sorry I dumped that on you 😬.)

What a throwback to the 60s! The matching wallpaper and fabric was a thing. Those dining room drapes eould have cost thousands. The yellow room has very provincial french vibes sorta like in the movie Breakfast at Tiffanys. Alot of the upstairs is that way. Gorgeous home!

My favorite rooms would be the room with the colorful cabinet spaces and futon bed because I would have made that my room even if it is small. The kitchen was awesome, and I would have turned that basement into a little apartment because it had a door leading to the outside, so I would have cleaned all that basement up and made it an apartment of its own. They could have made it less dark by making a bigger door to the outside somehow. The common thing in this whole house that is great is that textured wallpaper! I love it!! I wonder if the area with the red, white and blue couch could have been like a team meeting room because you said they owned various hockey teams, so maybe that room for their teams. to hold meetings. This is a beautiful place, and it is so sad that no one fixed it up and enjoyed it. Great find, BB!!! Thanks for showing us!

I’m an older adult that grew up in the 1960s and graduated HS in the 1970s. This is/was a beautiful home. The bedroom with the orange and dark blue painted shelves and cubby doors and the orange carpet definitely has a “Hullabaloo” (late 1960s early 1970s rock and roll variety show) vibe to it. The bedroom with the green, white, pink, and red (or orange) plaid wallpaper on the walls and ceiling is a throw back to the late 1960s and early 1970s. Thanks for exploring this house (and others) so I and others can explore too while sitting and watching…

I actually really liked the cabinetry in the kitchen. It looked like it would be magnetic and as well as washable so you could use dry erase markers on it... possibly. I've never seen a blender built in... I don't think I would end up liking that, as cool as it is... Aside from the kitchen cabinets, I think my favorite thing about this house was the blue/silver wallpaper throughout... SO pretty. I also really liked the blue and orange room... I liked how the light was square and kind of fit in with the angular feel of the room. The room itself was really cool too. The one that was so trippy, looks cool for someone else's house.. I think I would hate it after a while. I love your videos. I kind of wish you would focus a bit more on stuff IN cupboards and things. Sometimes that's where the coolest stuff is found.. In a house like this, seeing retro laundry soap packaging and stuff is really cool.

Bidets are LIFE CHANGING. Best damn thing we ever bought. Nothing can ever compare to the clean you get from them. No wipes, no sprays, nothing. Thorough rinsing with warm water, being able to use a latex glove and lather up with perineal soap in either liquid or foam, then more thorough rinsing, even a bit of "internal" cleansing with the water jet spray....MAN!! And in the summertime when it's hot?!! It's the freakin BEST. I wash up every single time I go. I have a roll of paper towels hanging next to the throne for easy and sanitary drying off, a shelf with my soaps, powders and whatnot. I'm proudly freshly washed at all times! ❤❤❤ Glad to hear from someone else who knows and appreciates the value of bidets!! I can't believe they aren't standard in ALL American homes! I can't help but think of everyone else as walking around stinking and dirty. I truly don't understand people who say they won't use them. SMH 🤢🤢🤢🤮

Hey Big Bankz, this house is really nice. So sad it can’t be saved. Again I agree w/ you, I have so much color in my house. I have a Turquoise ceiling in my hallway , a huge sunset mural in my spare bedroom and sunflowers painted in my master bedroom with a blended white & mixed blue ceiling for the sky effect. This place looks a bit before it’s time for the 60s. And that kitchen is gorgeous! The couch & entertainment unit are so retro! The master was a bit disappointing to me considering the rest of the house but bathrooms are very nice! The last bedroom, believe it or not, reminds me of my bedroom growing up lol. I had hot pink shag carpet with same color curtains. Our spreads were bright pink, yellow, white and green flowers OMG! No wallpaper. We had wood paneling. But posters everywhere! The basement confused me a bit. The mirrors & the little individual counters almost like a salon. And I hope that wasn’t the guest bedroom bc I sure would not want to stay down there! JS. This video was a blast from the past! Loved it! Peace out ✌🏼

The writing on the wall at 28:28 is in Japanese. it says (ヤンデレ). It means someone who is so much in love with someone they become mentally ill. But its most likely there because it is used in anime/anime dating sims (I could be wrong though, as I'm a very new Japanese learner.)

Back in the day .. draperies of silk with valance were very popular. Mirrors to add depth to the room. Curtains described more casual window covers... like what would go in a kitchen....family room. Usually the formal living room was in the front and sometimes a mire casual "family room" in the back of the house. Guests pretty much entertained in the formal living room. More casual living styles replaced this concept over the years...The wallpaper was great quality and still available today if you want to pay the extra cost.

I watch Ethen's video's all the time too. You where born in the wrong time, I grew up with colors and styles like this. I love the house. The girls room, the wall paper makes the room look long.
