Good episode 👍 I would probably just email the national police of Slovenia the image and coordinates. After that, I would not worry about it anymore. Also, it really looked like an upside down food container of a pokebowl or something like that 😁 Why is it still so clean and not more tucked away under fallen leaves after 20+ years? @FreeMilesMC my brothers and I actually once found an anti-tank mine while showing the police the handgranade we just found. Those were rusty as hell, but those were 50+ years old. We thought the landmine was actually an upside down rusty pan.

I will be there next week, your video just in time for me👍. I would report the landmine with coordinations per mail to military and police. So its more official and harder for them to ignore . Wish you a good and save journey!

For the mine thing. There must be at least one subscriber/viewer from Slovenia who's able to visit the spot. And with your video and coordinates that person maybe could call the local police and be taken seriously. Anyway, you did enough. Safe travels!

The Yugoslavian war lasted all of ten days before the Yugoslavian army retreated from Slovenia , there were a few skirmishes, notably a shootout by the italian border in Rozna Dolina where some small arms fire reached italian territory. Oh and a helicopter was downed at some point. That was basically it. If any landmines were ever placed then they were all removed by the early 1990s . That's why the police didn't understand how anyone other than a prankster could report a landmine. Meanwhile the real prankster is probably laughing his head off somewhere. I'm enjoying your video series. Keep them coming, and enjoy the areas where mines were actually deployed, but where you're equally unlikely to see any of them unless you stray very far from the TET on foot.

Zeljava was an old Yugoslavian military base. It was top of the line, difficult to spy on due to its natural surroundings.. Sadly, it was blown from inside out during the war during retreat.. crazy stuff.

Just curious. Police don't deal with military equipment. Why would you not have first thought to notify the local military?

Of course not. But civilians don't call the military. The police should take responsibility and escalate the issue. A Slovenia viewer here should really take responsibility. I know that if this was in Denmark, I would definitely be calling around, so some kid doesn't step on it. Thanks to Miles for doing his part 👍🏼👍🏼

Unless they go around polloshing up those old land mines that was not one. It looked brand new and clean. Very much doubt it was a land mine. The trail looked maintained somebody would have noticed and the +20 year old mine would not look so clean and new.

I it means “thorough heroes” or “ass heroes” since “heroji” means heros and word “analni” means “thorough“ and the second meaning is obvious. Two possible things (depending on context) but I would go with the second one.

Now I understand your concerns about the police better. In my opinion, you have done everything necessary. If the authorities do not want to react appropriately, then the suspicious object will remain in the forest. Don't ruin your trip with it. And if it makes you feel any better: the only mine that could be considered is a PMA-3. This mine contains 35 g of explosives. That is not enough to kill someone. This mine belongs in the "toe popper" category. Just forget about it now.

@@Donmanolo.2625That is my assessment too. Perhaps a local resident is annoyed by the motorcycles and has prepared an old training mine or an object similar to the PMA-3 to scare motorcycle tourists. Nevertheless, the thing should be removed. Otherwise there will always be problems with it. But if the authorities are not interested, there is nothing that can be done.

I'm a bit stumbled by your need of SIM cards. I lived in both UK and LT. If you have a SIM card from any of those countries you can use it for about 2 months within EU (they will detect that you haven't connected to Home network after sometime). Since you have a German SIM, I don't understand why you would need another one without leaving EU? The data, the minutes, the SMS must come from the same plan as if you were in Germany. That's the EU law, if you're being priced differently within EU, you should be able to file a complaint and your phone provider would be in a bad spot. Moreover even after Brexit, UK rules still the same, I can use my SIM card in EU as if I was in UK, no additional charge. P.S. I understand that Bosnia and Herzegovina is not in EU, but Croatia and all other countries you have visited so far are EU.

Why were you even using 3G? Those networks are mostly already switched off in Europe, even many networks in Germany is shown as without 3G since 2022. You can google 3G network switch off schedule, a lot of networks/countries have disabled it already. 2G will be kept for longer as it's more efficient and a lot of internet devices rely on it (like GPS trackers, etc).
