Great choice !!! Obviously all the technical aspects of a guitar are extremely important, but when you see a beautiful guitar across the room from you, it is such fun to reach for it and start making music. Thanks for another great video !!!

That Gotoh510 is the best trem I've ever played, and I've played most! It has all the abilities of a locking trem but with the feel and tone of a hard-tail. It can flutter, pull up, dive, vibrato and everything else and it stays in tune just as well as a locking trem! I've been playing Ibanez / Floyd Rose bridges for decades but this is way better. No need for extra tools and dealing with various parts. The design is simple and looks good, and it works. The arm tension is easily adjustable in the back so there's no "loose swing" or rattle or noise and it's always snug with no "play" or loose movement. It's perfect. Re-strings are painless and fast. I've got the chrome version but this gold version looks sweet. Great video BTW : )

Nice body & vid. Yes, as a kid, there were a lot of black walnut trees here in Oregon. Seems like there are fewer of them these days. Can't wait to see the neck.

I have a walnut/mahogany strat body from Warmoth for a current project guitar. Not figured like that one of course, but was a lot cheaper as well. Those Claro bodies are gorgeous.

I believe the 'claro' raises the cost substantially. Whether it changes tone? We'll find out later :) Thanks for watching.

Well I have been doing the vids but had break as was in the USA. But here now... I like how they sort of mould together between the two woods with the color too. Thanks for watching.

Congrats on getting one of these! It should come with a warning because Warmoth builds are addictive. I'm at 5 now, but man there's people that make hundreds. Be careful! :) Cheers

Ha I am way beyond 5 :) Check here: kzbin.info/aero/PLD38427759E821683 and they go on forever :) - I only make very high end guitars and use the best parts, but always have something in mind BEFORE I start a build so they are basically all different. Thanks for watching.

The wood combo should give it a hollowish sound from the roasted SA, and maybe a rounder upper midrange from the Walnut. I'd go with a lacquered FB on whatever neck you choose for better high-end sparkle the body woods might otherwise absorb. Roasted Maple should look nice, and not damp too much midrange. Something denser would work too if you want more oomph at the risk neck dive. EVO frets would look nice and may last longer than the Stainless Steel offerings, according to master luthier Ken Parker.

Ha you saw them then! :) I pondered for a while at that price as I knew what was to come re the shipping and tax. :) Thanks for watching.

No finish on the neck... and honestly I can't tell much about it until the neck is in my sticky little fingers. But it should work especially with the particular pickups :) more later :)

Claro walnut is also used for rifle stocks. I had a AAA grade claro walnut stock made for my Winchester model 70 in 2002. 👍

Very nice indeed. Walnut is a beautiful wood. Carvin seemed to favor it for their bass guitars, but not electric guitars. It's usually a heavy wood. I have a couple of Warmoth guitars; they make quality parts.
@GCKelloch

That's why it's only 1/4" on top of the SA. 4.3lbs is a good body weight. Should balance well and be just under 8lbs finished.
@tonymckenzieofficial
@tonymckenzieofficial 2 ай бұрын
@motokev2727 Indeed, I also have 'a few' :) I have never had a bad one. Part of the weight thing, is for the very limited stuff often they do use lighter wood. And had it been hollowed it would have likely made about 3 Lbs - as I have received on those before. Should be OK. :) Thanks for watching.

@GCKelloch yes it should come out pretty well, but I have not weighed the neck yet still waiting for that. Thanks for the info and for watching.
