Thanks for showing us your journey and the hard work no doubt comes in the filming and editing of the content vs the hike!

That is awesome. Can you imagine how much work it was just to get water up there. We are spoiled nowadays, lol.

Agreed! Considering how hard it was for me to get myself and my backpack of water up there, I don't think I would've lasted long back then!😂

That Mesa is a hell of a hike to get to. I explored some of it looking for ruins last spring but only found petroglyphs and pottery. I was looking at the wrong part of the Mesa obviously.

Agreed, just getting to the mesa is pretty rough! The first time I went up I did the same thing it sounds like you did, so when I went back I made sure I had a better idea of where the ruins were. It was a long day, but what an amazing experience!

Another amazing ruin settlement in that area is Chalk Canyon petroglyphs by Cave Creek on old FS 48, which loops up to Trail #4. Straight above these are more petroglyphs and rock walls on the mesa west of Trail #4, that loops back to Spur Cross. This site is in line of site of the one you just did. Oh, the bull hangs out down there also.

American history isn’t very ancient… what kind of ruin we are talking… ???

Greetings! The site in question dates back to approx 1200ACE. As I am not an academic historian, I was using the word descriptively-- as in "very old : having lived or existed for a very long time"-- not academically. Sorry for the confusion!

You’re right. The crazy thing is how America is so much more advanced than everyone else yet we haven’t been around as long. 🤔
