the spirit house next to the Thai wooden house, priceless, nice walk and great voice over

Thanks Ralph, appreciate it! I really dig the diversity of the spirit house designs. There is everything from super opulent to ultra simple, much like Thailand itself.

This series is worthy of either Discovery or the History Channel. Great stuff showing Bangkok well beyond the tourist destinations! Already planning on using this as an activity if we can come during Spring Break in March.... "Kids, pick a BTS stop and let's go explore what's there."

So happy episode 3 dropped. Really love the pace and narration of this series. It really feels like you're just walking around with a friend who knows the area. As to your question at the end about how does a locale deal with constant heavy rains; non-pervious pavement, integrated storm management systems, regular dredging of canals...and those are just the low-hanging fruits. It's a good question for a jumping off point on climate resiliency but also for a city like Bangkok, it kind of is just regular life. However it's tough to imagine that it gets better in the future. That being said, looking forward to the next episode!
@IdeaStudioBKK3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Lloyd, This area is currently flooded, as are most of the areas south of it. a combination of surging sea level, a cresting Chao Phraya River and several days of rain. All compounded by many of the infrastructure issues highlighted here, and as you said, a lack of canal dredging. I am working on a quick edit of that issue now to keep that conversation going.

@IdeaStudioBKK3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jed, i really expected there to be more built up, We had been passing by this filming the first two episodes and I thought this for sure was gonna be poppin... but nope. I was at the Russian Market in 2004 on my only trip to Cambodia. I think PP was a much different place then so I don't have a good point of reference. But I do remember a lot of the same infrastructure issues that were widespread in the city at the time. I even remember one bridge that looked like it was about to fall into the river.

Thanks man! The rats were a bit of a shock to me, I have seen them for sale in more rural parts of Thailand, far, far away from Bangkok. This was the closest I have ever seen it. I have a friend who lives in Issan and eat them regularly he really enjoys it and likens it to duck. As for the running shot, we had to cross that street anyway to get from the garden shops to the train so I figured I would run first and film Jib running over. LOL. Jib is always game.
@HamNoytheDutchGuy3 жыл бұрын
@@IdeaStudioBKK hahaha Jib is always game. But i know the rat thing in Isan, my wife has family who hunts and then eat them, they put them on a stick above the self made camp fire, never tried but never say never 😉
@IdeaStudioBKK3 жыл бұрын
@@HamNoytheDutchGuy If I were going to try it, I would do it in Issan, those are rice field rats, they are living in the fields, eating plants all day. This close to the city, I would have some serious concerns about the rats environment and diet.
