Nice, our last cruise to Alaska had really weird timing in Victoria. I think it arrived around 7:00 PM and was out of there by midnight. We are from Canada so it wasn't that big of a deal and we just stayed on the ship.

@@lindsayslivealittle You know the reason for this? The 'Jones Act' was passed many years ago by the US Government. The act said that any foreign flagged vessel could not trade between two American ports. Hence the mandatory stop in Vancouver Victoria and VERY occasionally, Nanaimo. They used to stop for much longer, allowing passengers time to go farther afield to places like Butchart Gardens. I heard that over the years the Cruise lines have bought up many of the tourist attractions, tours, shops etc in the Alaska stops and so they want the money spent there and not in Canada! We had THREE cruise ships in last night, carrying TEN THOUSAND passengers. They arrived at 7 8 and 9pm and they all left before midnight! How annoying!

If you are talking about the Craft beer market there are several locations in Canada. But I just realized I think I said the exact location incorrectly. We went to the in Victoria Harbor. Thanks for catching that! Emma

Great video and super interesting to see Victoria through your travels! Victoria has an embarrassment of riches as far as Craft Beer Brewery & Distilleries is concerned. Next time you come do check out Moon Under Water, Lighthouse Brewing, and Victoria Brewing (probably a cycle or taxi ride away from the habour though).

@@lindsayslivealittle Oh cool! Well if you like Gin then Victoria Distillers up on Sidney is well worth the trip. Nearby there's the Fox & Monical, which does amazing food (I think the owner was once a sous chef to Gordon Ramsay!). For all things scotch (and they do lovely ales too. Twa Dogs) go to Macalony's Island Distillery. Both would require hiring a car to get to though. If you're doing that might as well check out Salt Spring Island (Ferry leaves from near Sidney btw). It's one of our favourite islands to visit and it has an amazing brewery to visit , surprisingly called Salt Spring Brewery:)

People (Americans and people the world over) do not realize that Victoria enjoys milder winters than many cities and towns in the South USA! I might have to use your listed email. OK?

@@scholarlyanalyst7700 we live in Colorado! Cold doesn’t bother us! Our videos coming out in a few weeks is us in Norway past the arctic circle at the end of December! Cold doesn’t bother us at all! I (Emma) did Quebec City in February! It was insanely cold but beautiful!

As of 05/12/2024, I suggest visiting this city with extreme caution, demented drug addicts are everywhere, and there is a drug addict encampment on Pandora Ave. Stick to the immediate waterfront. Do not venture inland too much. It is difficult to distinguish the crazies from normal people, they both look similar with many tattoos and piercings. This is reality. Don't blame the messenger. Be well

Not really sure 3-4 drinks over 8+ hours is too much while on a trip. We love to try local breweries or wineries and split drinks or try sample sizes when we visit. Thanks for your opinion.
