Exploring Bentonville, Arkansas: Mountain biking for the FIRST time (+ coffee and food!)

We made it to our final new state of 2020: Arkansas! And we’re kicking things off in the Northwest part of the state in the super cute city of Bentonville. We spent the day grabbing coffee at one of our new favorite roasters, going mountain biking for the first time, eating some delicious food, and celebrating Adam (and Kona’s) birthdays!

Hi y’all! We’re Adam, Kathryn, and Kona, an adventurous married couple (+ pup!) living on the road in our self-converted sprinter van! You can often find us driving all around the US and Canada, scoping out the best coffee shops, eating tacos and ice cream (we're a 5+ taco and 2+ scoop household), and enjoying nature.
We created Adventures of A+K to help busy, budget conscious, and adventurous travelers maximize their vacation time and money wherever they go through detailed travel guides, vlogs, and resources. Our goal: to help you spend less time (and stress!) planning your trip and more time enjoying it!

Safety is our #1 priority and we want to stress that this adventure, and all future adventures, will be done responsibly and with the health of others in mind. Here are the steps we are taking everyday, including in these videos: 😷Masks and face coverings. We wear these anytime we are near others outside and especially indoors. If we don’t have a mask on in a video, it’s 99% because there was no one around. ⏰ Exploring early. We normally start at sunrise anyway because of less crowds, but especially so with COVID. We have been starting our days before sunlight so we can limit our interactions. 🧼 Washing and sanitizing our hands, especially after touching anything outside of the van. 🚐 Being in the van 95% of the time when we’re not filming. The adventures we share are a small sliver of our lives. We are staying in the van all day everyday when working and the only time we leave is to do laundry, get gas, or go to the store. 6️⃣ Keeping our distance. We are trying to stay at least 6 ft from others, which truthfully isn’t always possible (and then we make sure we cover our face).

Y'all should check out the Virginia Creeper Trail in Damascus, VA... similar to the Hiawatha trail... go during Spring or Peak autumn for beautiful colors! It is easy and so fun and beautiful countryside

1st thing, Happy Birthday dude! 2nd you found saiwok! Y’all are in my hometown “area” NWA is a hidden gem for so many adventures. One of Sam Walton’s grandsons has been behind the Mt bike trails he’s invested millions with more to come making the area a peddlers Paradise. Happy Birthday, Adam! Tracie and I hope that you had a great birthday! I love those murals you showcased in Bentonville. Those tigers looked really cool! Don't worry that you're not doing wheelies and 360 degree flips on your mountain bikes. The important thing is that you're getting outside your comfort zone, trying something new, and having fun. We felt the same way the first time we did a ropes course. We breezed through the beginner line and were enthusiastic about the next level up until we realized that it involved a thin metal tightrope (really a wire that we were somehow supposed to walk across). We'll return again one day and push ourselves to try the next level which you can also do with mountain biking. Just keep at it. Trying new things keeps life interesting and fun!

Very cool! My wife and I live in the little town of Siloam Springs AR which is about 45 min WSW of Bentonville right up next to the Oklahoma line. I've been on those exact same mountain bike trails several times. My wife has business in Rogers fairly regular and Onyx is one of her frequents when traveling there. So nice to see our beautiful area getting some recognition.
