Check out the 1972 movie Night of the Lepus if you haven't seen it yet. It's a very serious horror movie about giant killer rabbits and the result is unintentionally hilarious.

I saw it at the Traverse City film festival, they usually reserve a shlock movie for the midnight showing. I was worried it was going to be a super low budget film, but they really hyped it up (and I do have a weakness for low budget schlock). Great movie, and yeah, definitely didn't get the credit due it

I'm surprised there isn't a ubiquitous Australian horror film about what they call "drop bears" which is really just a myth about an evil breed of koalas they tell to scare tourists. Still, plenty of great fodder to expand upon for a horror flick. I'd pay to see that movie!

Dimension putting the "Black Sheep" trailer on the DVDs of the Grindhouse movies was probably the best and most brilliant decision to hit their target audience. It's definitely how I caught wind of this wonderful movie.

I remember buying the unrated dvd because the cover art looked ridiculous (in a good way). I never once regretted that decision. I watch Black Sheep at least once or twice a year.

That CGI scene where the sheep run down the steep hill ... it's a spoof of the scene in The Two Towers where Gandalf and the Rohirrim arrive at Helm's Deep to save the day.

I discovered this one thanks to a friend who worked at Blockbuster during its dying days. The management at my local Blockbuster thought allowing the employees to curate their own staff picks shelf would help them hold onto business and this was one of the movies on my friends section of the shelf during the couple of months he worked there.

Due to our countries being so close both geographically and socially, Kiwi films are marketed here just as much as in their home country and vice versa. If you haven't seen Peter Jackson's early films, you're missing out. LOtR may be amazing but it doesn't represent "Peter Jackson".

I watched this movie because I was making a video about killer animal films and I was watching as many killer animal flicks as I could. Black Sheep didn't make the final cut; the movie was okay but not great. I did think the gore and creature effects were very good though, especially for such a low-budget movie. The movie also gets an extra demerit for naming a character "Experience." Such a stupid name, even for a hippy.
