Exploring Bookstores in Oxford, England!

I studied in Oxford last year, and I miss all of these shops. By the time I returned home, I had bought about as many books as I could possibly cram into my luggage.

I say, thanks ever so much for this short, but enjoyable walk around Oxford bookshops. As a retired Oxford academic, my personal bookshop of choice was always Blackwell Books, where I have been buying my many, many books for over fifty years, and continue to do so, even though I now live far, far away. The interesting thing is, that back in the 1980`s, the book was being written off as old tech, and had no future. Despite serious efforts to bring this about, books are selling now as frequently and as speedily as ever before - and why not, they are easy to carry, come in a vast range of titles, do not require batteries or charge point and need very little updating :) thank you once again, great fun indeed !!!!!

It's so cool that there are so many options for bookstores out there. Unfortunately here in San Diego there aren't that many so all the more reason to visit the UK or other places that may have more bookstores. Hope you have fun there!!

Book shops. 'Stores' are where books are stored, not necessarily sold...

In the US, we say both! A bookstore is just a store that sells books.
