🌆🚶‍♂️ Join me for another exploration of Boston, where we take in a mix of history and modern spots. Starting near the Gordon Ramsay Burger Restaurant, we walk past some of Boston’s oldest and most iconic locations, bustling with people and filled with history.
📸 In this video, you'll see:
Gordon Ramsay Burger: We pass by the famous Gordon Ramsay Burger Restaurant, a popular spot known for its gourmet burgers and lively atmosphere.
Historic Bell in Hand Pub: As we continue, we see the Bell in Hand Tavern, established in 1795, making it one of the oldest continuously operating bars in the United States. It was founded by Jimmy Wilson, Boston’s last town crier, and has been serving up drinks for more than 200 years, playing a part in Boston’s rich tavern history.
White Bull Tavern: Next, we pass by the White Bull Tavern, a pub offering food and drink with a historical twist. It’s located in the heart of Boston’s bustling nightlife scene.
Faneuil Hall: We take a quick look around Faneuil Hall, built in 1742 as a marketplace and meeting hall. Known as the “Cradle of Liberty,” Faneuil Hall has witnessed many significant events in American history, including debates and speeches by patriots like Samuel Adams advocating for independence from Britain.
Sam Adams Taproom: We check out the busy Sam Adams Taproom, where locals and tourists alike gather to enjoy a variety of craft beers.
Freedom Trail to Old State House: As we continue, we follow part of the Freedom Trail to the Old State House, one of the oldest public buildings in the United States, dating back to 1713. It was the site of the Boston Massacre and has stood as a symbol of the city’s revolutionary history.
Boston Sign by Government Center: A popular photo spot, we stop to see the large Boston sign near Government Center, which attracts tourists year-round.
Bill Russell Memorial: Next, we visit the Bill Russell Memorial. Bill Russell, one of the greatest basketball players in NBA history, was a trailblazer both on and off the court. As the captain of the Boston Celtics, he won 11 championships, but his legacy goes beyond basketball. Russell was a prominent civil rights advocate and worked tirelessly for social justice. The memorial celebrates both his athletic achievements and his impact on the fight for equality.
Giant Teapot on Court Street: We end the walk by checking out the quirky giant teapot sign hanging above the Starbucks near Government Center. This sign dates back to the 1870s when it was used as an advertisement for a local teashop.
