During a minus tide, the tide pools are a great time. Full of all kinds of sea life.

I lived in Cayucos for a bit back in the late 70's and still visit frequently in my dreams! Amazingly I didnt know about the shipwreck and the cookie shop wasnt there yet. Those cookies had my mouth watering and is a good excuse to go back for a visit. My #1 favorite thing to do in Cayucos is beachcombing. I lived at the strand and used to find beautiful agates, jasper, jade and many other beautiful rocks along with shells including sand dollars of all sizes right down to teeny tiny. I hope to move back someday but as I am a senior citizen now my somedays are running short. I'll never forget my first trip there from L.A. As soon as we got there at dawn I felt as if I were home. I miss it sooo much! Thank you for this video, I can smell the ocean just watching it ❤

Beachcombing is an awesome activity in Cayucos. The shipwreck didn’t happen until 2007. But it’s just north of town and it’s really cool. Well worth checking it out if you can make a visit happen. Thank you so much for the nice comment. You made our day!

I lived in the area for eleven years and you were showing so many things I wasn’t aware were there. The only thing I was aware of was the pier, beach and the brown cookie shop (which are very good). I am so looking forward to seeing the things I missed seeing when I lived in the area.

@@corefouradventures2861 You’re welcome. The guy that built Schooners, Bill Larkin, owned the Tavern before that. I used to play music there. 80’s, up until a few years ago.

Cayucos has one of the best Italian restaurants anywhere in my book, Cafe Della Via. Try it out if you're there. Make a reservation because people line up to get in well before they open. You won't be disappointed.
