Exploring Celebrity Flop Eras
Hey everyone welcome back to my channel! It's definitely been a minute. sorry for how long it's been since my last upload, there was an update in the community tab if ur curious (got sick lol) but I'm all good now and happy to be back :)) While I was gone though I missed out on the absolute CHAOS that was Liam Payne (ex-one direction member) showing up on Logan Paul's (of all people like seriously HUH??) podcast Impaulsive and the fallout from it all that caused a tik tok trend of all things. That alone was just an insane whirlwind of weird moments but it got me thinking about celebrity flop eras in general. While they're usually seen as a low point in a celebrity's career, lately I've started to think that there's a bit of a silver lining when it comes to flopping, and that's the entertaining chaos that seems to always come along with it.
Whether it's a (surprisingly catchy) song for a Just Eat ad by Katy Perry, Demi Lovato's show about alien hunting?? or Liam Payne offering to fight.. anyone at this point i guess? There's literally no stone unturned when it comes to the weird things that celebrities get up to during their flop eras so I thought it'd be fun to explore! Today we'll be looking into Katy Perry, Liam Payne, Demi Lovato and Jesy Nelson who I think have definitely had the most "eventful" flop eras as of recent but if there are any other flop eras that come to mind as an especially entertaining time in pop culture, share it in the comments so I can check it out!

Some of those people will end up declare bankruptcy in their 40s - it's tale as old as time. Not the likes of Perry but like Liam Payne? He probably didn't get a good deal with 1D so won't be as much as it should be and his solo stuff hasn't made him much at all.

I have a feeling that if O.O and Tank were released by a debut group from a not-too-popular entertainment company, those songs would have flopped really hard. Since NMIXX is from JYPE, one of the Big 3, it was easier for them to get away with it and people will try their hardest to like the songs. I still remember that the group got tons of pre-orders even though JYPE hadn't reveal the members AND the group name yet. I'm also not saying that NMIXX isn't talented, they're SUPER talented and I adore Lily M. However, I do acknowledge that being in the Big 3 gives them an advantage to succeed as a debut group with mediocre songs.

I'm not diabetic and still there is too much added sugar into pretty much everything. And it's truly bad for our health, also for us who can process sugar. Had I seen the sugar-free froyo, I would have assumed that the guilt free is because it is healthier than anything with sugar in it. Even though the billion streams wasn't accurate, at one point in 2017, Strip That Down actually was the highest selling solo single for a 1D member. I know it probably isn't now but Liam was talking about how big an impact the song had right out of the gate, so then he had to refocus onto trying to top that. I don't know why he said he wasn't looking for a solo career though because he was one of the first in the studio post hiatus, even posting teasers on IG of his work. His biggest mistake was trying to move into hip hop. Also when he said he was placed at the front of the band at first, that was true. He's mentioned it many times over the years. He was the only one who had experience with live performance so the XF crew just put him at the front while the others got used to performing.

I think Liam's problem is he has no idea who he is and is too insecure and too desperate for relevancy and popularity to be vulnerable and explore who he is and take risks. Instead he is just musically flailing around throwing trends at a wall and hoping it works. The other members of 1D on the other hand also had to find who they were, but let themselves be vulnerable and take risks, and as a result people loved it and related to it. Louis is doing completely different kinds of music, but his fans adore him for his relatable and heartfelt lyrics, and non-fans like me respect him for it. I'm a fan of BTS, and when they announced they were going on a break to do solo music and complete their military service, they spoke about how the industry moves so fast you loose sight of who you are and prevented them for finding who they had grown into over the years. Now they are exploring different sides of themselves in their solo music with the same vulnerability and courage they have always shown in their group music. I think Zayn, Harry, Louis and Niall have all also gone through that process, being vulnerable, finding who they are and accepting themselves and their music for who and what it is rather that trying to chase trends and what people expect. I don't think Liam has, I think his insecurities are greater than his courage, and I hope that changes for him.
