@ItzUnknwn3 жыл бұрын
I could think of a few things that make me think these are not THE nails from Jesus’ cricifixion. One, both of these men are religious. Obviously. Two, I don’t understand why those nails would be anywhere near where Jesus would’ve been buried or why they would be separated. Wouldn’t they have either been disposed of or left at the crucifixion site? I don’t see why Jesus would have the nails in his hands after removal from the cross, clothes and put into a tomb and still have them and THEN 3 days later have them still and finally drop them as he left the tomb that makes no sense to me. The ONLY explanation I could think of would be that Jesus knew because he is God that one day someone would find them so he made sure fate kept them close to him before his heavenly ascent but that doesn’t seem very likely to me. Plus how many people were crucified before during and after that time? They could be ANY nails and with no real way to get a DNA ID there’s no way to prove. I mean we don’t even know if Jesus is real or not so we definitely wouldn’t be able to identify his DNA in any way even if we had physical DNA from him. I say they did this for hope, but I think they have fallen short. Good try tho guys I’m sure it was a lot of work put into this. Congrats on your find

@symptomoftheuniverse12613 жыл бұрын
Yes and in another monastery here in my hometown (not away from Thassos), they have the "Honest wood". Which is meant to be wood from the cross that Jesus was crucified on. All these years they make charms from this "honest wood". But I guess it's 2 in 1. It has some extra magic in it. I guess it never runs out. Like this day when the wine was over and then jesus turned the water into wine. Or sth like that. The point is that u get it. All these priests.. don't believe those religious bastards. They're willing to do everything so they can sell. And if you don't believe me that they'd do everything for money, I can show you a video in which an icon of St. Mary, starts "attacking" some Christians. This happened in an other city close to mine. There are also incidents of priests hiding crosses to different places, so when they "found" it, or other people like public service workers, they had to build a church there. Like literally churches in the middle of the road. The number of this kind of incidents is immeasurable. They just exploit their believers (and I'm saying their believers and not "the" believers because at that point they start believing in whatever those charlatans say and not in whatever He, God says) and they step on their love for God. I don't believe in this kind of bullshit, or any other religion but it makes me feel sick. I also don't feel very bad for them because i think they don't understand what's happening at all. I also love the loyalty of some people. Not just about religions. But for this subject, i love watching they're loyalty. For instance when you commune (the orthodox way with the spoon), there should be zero possibility of germs being spread. Which is hilarious because everyone puts the same spoon in his mouth. But if I heard a Christian telling me that this is true and that he actually can agree with me, I would probably tell him to go fuck himself. Or u believe or not. It's your right. At least do it fucking properly.

"... the nails which may have come from Jesus' cross." That's exactly the same as, "the nails which may not have come from Jesus' cross." Leaving aside if any of this really happened (this particular crucifixion and I doubt it), the reason nails from this era are so rarely found is that metal was very precious back then. Metal, including nails were reused again and again. Blacksmiths would rework the metal, forging a new nail out of the old. (Reuse, recycle) A lot of people were crucified back then. The chances of these two nails (and what happened to the other nail?) being 'THE NAILS' are vanishingly close to zero.

There’s no way this is the nails. Since Jesus walked Israel the city has been rebuilt 66 times. If you look up the western wall in Israel and look to the left there’s some arches that are about 5 foot tall. When Jesus walked. They were estimated to be 40-50 foot. Therefore his grave is way underground. Unless they dug under Israel 45 feet I don’t think they’ve found it . Plus knowone knows where the real tomb is. People has speculations but knobody knows exactly where it is

Dirt levels don't raise everywhere all at the same amount over time, cites as old as Israel gain soil in some areas, yes that is true, but in order for that to happen that dirt has to come from somewhere else in the city, so for all we know the dirt above that tomb was actually higher and the ground has since lowered right there, which is actually more likely since it appears to be on a hillside where weathering is faster

💙 could this be like the soldier who pierced the side of Christ and was instantly converted? Caiaphis watched the crucifixion and when presented with the nails was instantly converted? Thus the change of attitude in that book?
@thesleepingpusheen26503 жыл бұрын
My guess is that caiaphas wasn't a "good guy" all along as this documentary is trying to portray him. Maybe he converted to christianity after witnessing the events that followed right after Jesus' death (an earthquake and an eclypse, i believe) so he asks the roman authorities for the nails to keep them as a "souvenir", caiaphas dies a christian but a jewish priest in everybody's eyes. Another posibility is that he converted to christianity, roman authorities find out, and in the most ironic turn of events he gets crucified so those might not be Jesus' nails but caiaphas'.

Christian relics are a joke. “WE HAVE ENOUGH PIECES OF THE CROSS TO BUILD NOAH’S ARK” Martin Luther As a Christian I highly doubt that, like the crockery of the Last Supper, people were thinking that the nails were anything special. The disciples were sad and disaffected because they just watched their friend and mentor crucified. The idea of him being resurrected was not top of mind.

There is plenty of historical records outside of the Bible proving Jesus existed. The 2000 year old debate is not whether he existed. It's whether or not he is God as he claimed.

The book Caiaphas wrote might have been written _after_ the crucifixion. Remember he was the high priest. He was the one who sprinkled the blood of the sacrifice on the mercy seat behind the veil in the temple. And he's the one who would know what it meant when that veil was rent in two from the top to the bottom. He would know he had just murdered the Messiah. What more natural than for him to immediately convert to Christianity. After all, he and Pilate were both released from their positions shortly after the crucifixion. Makes sense to me. And I wouldn't trust any finding from such a doubter as Simcha Jacobovici. Simcha did a show, I can't remember the name of it, but he suggested that Jesus might have married Mary Magdalene. I haven't believed anything he's said since then. If he's a Christian, he doesn't act like one.
