After envying abstract landscape artists for years, I finally decided to intentionally play with abstract landscape compositions and see what would happen. I have a theory that exploring and figuring out what "Jackie landscapes" would look like on my own is the best way for me to avoid being influenced by how other artists define abstract landscapes. It might take me longer to get to my desired outcome, but I'm going to stick with it and see how it goes.
In addition to composition, I also experimented with a different color palette in this exercise: yellow ochre, phthalo turquoise, payne's grey, and alizarin crimson (plus black, white, and collage, of course).
Materials used: sketchbook, acrylic paint, collage, and a color shaper.
