The buildings you and your mom visited in this vlog were extraordinary, Lisa. I can remember seeing architecture like these in my art history books as well as World history books in college. So very cool. Thanks for sharing and I’m looking forward to seeing more vlogs.

I love seeing architecture. It never ceases to amaze me how they could build those types of buildings with such intricacies so long ago. The hours and sweat that must have gone into them are staggering!

I'm loving these vlogs Lisa! It took me back and I pulled up photos from Sitges, Barcelona and Montserrat which my kids and I did in 2019 while my daughter was studying abroad. I absolutely fell in love with Spain. I can't wait to see more. Yes, La Sagrada Familia was just incredible! I'm in awe of the art in that part of the world. So happy you and your mom had a trip there together. xx!

Sorry Lisa the catholic in me is about to pop up, Corpus Christi is a movable feast celebrated on the thursday of the week following the 9th sunday starting on Easter, always. However we Catholics love to extend our celebrations and depending on the region and occasion we may do 3, 9, or even 12 days of various social gatherings with the excuse of religious expression. This year Corpus was on the 30th of May but some places in Spain start since the 25th. As someone else actually from Spain has already said the "thing" is a "Paso", literally "step" but technically a "float" like in any parade which is what that was except that in a Catholic context we call them "Procesión" or "Peregrinacion" (procession and pilgrimage) even in short distances. The "Paso" it's an extremely heavy and highly ornated platform moved by a group of men, usually hidden under it, that carries the image of a saint, generally a statue, or other religious artifacts from one place to another during religious celebrations I'm not gonna lie, I'm kinda jealous right now *more accurately a "pass" since the image is "stepping" through in order to go somewhere. The route it takes to get there is also called paso

Cool to see some different places to what I saw when we visited. I wasn’t much for the repetition of Spanish menus either… I expected more provincial dish’s like the different regions of Italy.

Hi Lisa! Could you finally seen Seville's Cathedral indoors? The "thing" with the Virgin is a "paso" or a "trono=throne". In Madrid we haven't Corpus Christi festivity 😅. Have you seen Alcázar Palace in Seville? Its like Alhambra of Granada, but smaller, very beautiful. I'm surprise that the took you to Casa Dueñas and not to other places, I suppose that was because of Corpus Christi... You were lucky because in Cordoba could reach 122 F (50°C)😅 Thank you so much for visiting my country, I hope you have enjoy it 🥰

Thank you for all the info! We did not go into the Seville cathedral. I think that we could have gone to in the morning to pray but it was going to be closed due to the Corpus Christi celebration. We did not go to the Alcazar palace. We were told it was very similar the Alhambra (which we did go to) so we were skipping it. And I’m very glad we missed 122 degree heat!!☀️

Did you buy any shoes in Sevilla? Our tour guide told us Sevilla was known for leather and pointed us to various areas with shops. I bought the best pair of leather Chelsea boots I’ve ever owned, have worn them to death for the past 8 or so years, and they still look great. I paid practically nothing for them. There was a group of 40-something ladies on our bus who had each brought an extra, large suitcase for the things they knew they’d buy in Sevilla. I wish I’d known before our trip!

We don’t have a lot of free time in Seville and it was mostly at night so didn’t get to see any local shops. Sounds like I missed out. 😞
