Lovely to see again. I grew up and walked around the beacon all the time. My grandfather Jim lived up the lane. Gosh how I wish I still lived here!

Grew up in St Agnes from age of 4 to 11. When I read the Poldark books, noticed St Agnes was never mentioned, but lots of places around it were, as if St Agnes was the centre.

What a wonderful and ‘typical’ Cornish village - so nice to see the weather getting better as the video progressed.

St. Agnes is amazing! So cute! Loved it! Looking forward to Poldark county. That shoud be rather fun! Wish you had time for Port Isaac (aka. Port Wenn of Doc Martin fame), but maybe on your next tour of Cornwall. Speaking of which...I noticed the same red flowers growing out of the rock walls here at St. Agnes that you see on Doc Martin. Somebody that knows flowers of England helpe out - what are they? They are very pretty!

Ramibu 2 - I went to Port Issac last month; it is lovely but I would recommend that Richard goes off season very early in the morning as it gets super busy!
@RichardVobes5 жыл бұрын
I have resisted the better known places - mainly because they are already famous and stacked with tourists.

@@RichardVobes yes - I've heard that about Port Isaac. Like Bus loads of tourist. That would be anoying yo try & walk around while you were filming!
@ramibu2395 жыл бұрын
@@MrGreatplum yeah if he went he would prob have to do one of his 6 AM walks to avoid hoards of tourist/fans. I love the show & would just like to see someone like Richard take their time walking through the village do as to actually see all the cottages

Higher Bal - there is a chapel there. Bal, I think means mine. There used to be Bal maidens who worked at the mines

Hearing Mark referring to the "Lynch gate" the locals obviously took their lives in their hands when they went to church!

Valerian is the popular name of Centranthus ruber. In fact the native valerian is usually found in ditches, presumably it likes to keep its feet damp.

I was out filming some red Valerian only with morning!

I had read the books before the new series and it was pretty close to the original. Winston Graham being a fab author.
