Kaya sobrang dami Ang dumadayo Sa Thailand dahil di sila mapag samantala Sa mga dayuhan. I'm not condoning the unfair foreigner pricing practice but consider that these people don't make much and you have the privilege to travel the world, a few pesos more will help them a lot and it won't affect your budget a bit.

I have a lot of poor friends foreigners in the Philippines. Who came here many years ago and now because of war, Don't have incomes. And really survive . And don't have money to come back. And locals see if white , we can overcharge. Foreigners, are in different situations. Someone swim in money , someone eat only rice one month long.

Jelena, it happens to my family before the boat owner will ask that favor or if nobody agrees then you will wait for a couple of minutes or even hours for next passenger. For me its fair if you're in a hurry some even hire the whole boat. Its usually happens when at secluded Island. The only place very strick to fare is Cebu City taxi and public jeepneys or bus has a strict rules. Try Metro Manila they often don't use taxi meters but in Cebu if someone caught they will loose franchise and they the complainant friends of friends will look for the driver for a nice KISS that's why nobody abuse in the island. In Mindanao my experienced the fare from the shipping port keeps on changing, anyways just try to compromise and considerate that's life secret code be happy always.

Jelena, it is logica or understandable for the tour guides to add a surcharge for speaking English to foreigners. When I was in Germany, the tours in English were more expensive than the tours in German. The tours in Latvia have probably the same "foreign language" surcharge.

Hi Jelena, should have told the boat captain that you are living in the Philippines and that you are a local resident. There are really some that take advantage on tourists. If only you can speak tagalog and they will surely get amazed and shun off to the situation because you speak and understand tagalog or their local dialect. Just enjoy the time anyway.

I guess that man thought they were rich tourists visiting over the summer from Europe. Local Filipino merchants overcharge certain people they think are likely rich. Flilipinos overcharging, not every Filipino does that, but some do, and that practice of overcharging those who they think have more money has been like that for many, many decades, not just in the Philippines, but in a lot of other countries as well. Jelena, the only way you can get out of being overcharged is to look at them in the eye and kindly explain that you really don't have a lot of money if you don't, and your friend would have to explain that as well if she doesn't have a lot of money either, and that's the way to get out of being overcharged. For us filipino working here in moscow as we work in russian home they treat us good No discrimination Here in russia filipina nanny are endemand and filipina house keeping Omg lots of russian are really rich mostly those elite people live in mansions I worked as well in rich russian family for 7 years. But now i change employer. Only winter season is bit difficult from autumn til early spring are like dark days 🤣. But like you found freedom in Philippines same for me here and rest of OFW we found freedom to work here. We can earn money here the way we want Because lots of options. And good things is we doesn't need to speak russian because we are indemand here because we spoke english work as nanny so that thier children will learn english. Russian people are good, family oriented and Christians
