Today we are exploring the 'Ghost Town' in GTA 3! How to get to Ghost Town in GTA 3? Well there's only a handful of ways. 1. By Dodo (if you are a skilled pilot) 2. Cheats 3. Mods. Today we use a bridge mod from 2005 to explore the Ghost Town in GTA 3! In all my years of playing Grand Theft Auto, this is the first time I've ever set foot in Ghost Town. You don't see many high quality videos of Ghost Town in GTA 3 on KZbin because most are from 2005-2010. Enjoy!

Skip to 3:20 for Dodo flying (for a short while) Skip to 4:50 for hill climbing to ghost town (eventually getting stuck) Skip to 7:05 for going to ghost town with the bridge (by using mods) Skip from 7:40 to 8:05 to skip jumpscare (edited by Zac 'cause he is a dick, no offence but why put a jumpscare for no reason) Skip to 8:10 for just straight exploration Thank me later...

But why is it in the game world, albeit in an inaccessible area? Could they not make a cut scene back in 2001 without having it be an actual part of the game?

It's just easier to put it off to the side, outside of the play area where you can't see it. This is exactly how I would do it in Unreal Engine.

Even in games like BF3 they do this; the character modding screen is in the game somewhere in the map; it is easier to render in different settings and faster to load afterwards :)

Maybe it was intended for a sequel in liberty state but who know? I don't think we will see any GTA 3 sequel but I like to think it.

Ghost Town was originally supposed to be a 4th island for the game (Upstate). Unfortunately, it wasn’t completed on time for release, so they just used this for the intro cutscene. They never thought anyone would find it.

Dodo was easy to pilot. You just hold down on the d pad til you see sparks then release and you just tap the direction buttons slightly and try to keep it balanced. Also try not to fly over slow motion ramps lol

Yep the ramp locations have infinite hight so you’ll enter action camera eveytime you fly over it xD

So this location is not included, because it would take them more time to produce the game, and as you may or may not remember they were already short on time because of the fixes they had to do because of 9/11. So basically this ghost town was produced only to generate the game intro and that is it, you do not need to make solid buildings and cars for a cutscene, but you would have to do it if you wanted to include it to the game. I've seen it somewhere on KZbin a few years ago, that is the whole mystery.

Indeed. And that's why the "ghost town" is more detailed than other GTA streets any most of the street isn't complete. It was solely designed for the opening scene. They probably designed the islands before the opening sequence and the Bank of Liberty City was an afterthought for the storyline.

As a semi-expert dodo flyer, this is my advice to you: either don’t pull up at all or VERY gently pull up (technically it’s back on the joystick, but you know what I mean). The clipped wings and weak engine make the plane very temperamental. The key is to try to ascend gently and turn gently. If you pull up too hard, it’s gonna catch all the wind and the engine can’t keep it going upward

It's not a super secret location at all. There are lots of videos on it, and plenty of mentions of it on the Internet. As for the Ghost Town not being in the game, it's because it was created as the scenario for the initial cutscene. Same as some spots that can be found in Blue Hell in GTA: SA.

I think they didnt add it to the main map because it was probably buggy. They probably found that when claude renters the area when that part of the map is active, he gets looped back into the beginning cutscene reacts the scene when the player gets close or enters the general area. So in order to keep the current active code from clashing with the preexisting one from the cutscene, they made it so you can't access the area. Just my thoughts anyway, but I enjoyed the video and the content you post! Keep it up Zac 👍

I believe that the backstory of Gta 3's Dodo's was that they were used for drug running, an the cops caught the bad guys and scuttled the Dodos by cutting their wings off. However, if you have enough speed, and take of at a very small angle, I believe the Dodo will fly. I have never played Gta 3, but this is what I remember reading

I feel like I'm the only one that can fly the dodo completely fine. The key was to not pull up just keep tapping down the plane automatically goes up and be super gentle on the steering.

This is not a scraped out ghost town, it's just the location where the prologue of the game starts, the reason why it looks incomplete is because the camera on that cutscene was never meant to focus on any area other than the bank and the alleyway, kinda of like North yankton if you drive past the mission areas.
