Because it's intended to be a cutscene. It has a higher graphical quality than the rest of the game, thus its integration would make it noticeable that the graphics weren't as good as they could be.

@@WaffleCore87 It does. You probably needed a good PC back in 2001 to run the game the way it is... imagine what specs it would need if the whole world had cutscene textures on it. They do that for performance reasons (or other reasons such as time constraints).

@@thearousedeunuch Dude... Im 31 years old. I was running this on 2 PCs. First PC specs were: GeForce 2 with 32 megs of ram, AMD CPU @ 650mhz and 256 megs of system ram. GTA3 was running almost fine until too many objects were on screen. The othe PC had GeForce 4Ti with 64 megs of VRAM, AMD @ 1GHz and again with 256 system ram... It ran perfect. My point is it didnt require that much... All u need back then was 64 megs of video ram. Literally any toaster with such device could run it. Wait... maybe Im wrong after all... 64 vram in that year was new... Altho I still think they couldve added it anyway.

Man , Nostaglia hit me hard this month of October , because I remember buying this game the day it came out of October 2001 , 17 years ago.. , there was no pre orders , no one queuing for the game , and no anticipation, no one really knew what Grand theft auto was back then , I was one of the OGs straight up , I witnessed the rise of GTA , while all these little 18 year old bitches only know GTA because of San Andreas pfffff

I'm a pretty skilled dodo pilot, i also tried getting inside the ghost town, tunnels, observatory, construction floors and have gotten in the stadium and the secret staunton island sign... i remember that nostalgic feeling everytime i go exploring in gta 3, just a peaceful investigation...

As a huge GTA fan, this was AWESOME!!! Used to be the only way to get a good look inside the first safe-house was to get the sniper's rifle. Walk up close to the door, and zoom in. So nice being able to get a much better look. Thank you.

Yep. That's how they were able to make MTA. It's a "mod" that enables multiplayer in gta3, vc and san andreas. Devs left some unused crude multiplayer code in the game and mods used that to build a multiplayer client thing. It was very basic for gta3, then they added some cool stuff on gtavc and gtasa had races and a lot of other cool stuff. The mtasa community is still active to this day.

@@fullmetaljacket7 Lol on the sever where i played we had Lagshot Hitbox and Shotguns biggest Damage was 49 or 50 not many cases with Deagle you needed 3 Shots to kill a 100hp Player and with armor for the Cops 5 shots with deagle. You also had to be pretty skilled at deagling

MendezPresents good times! Lol what I hated about the shotgun was that it would lay you on the ground on the first shot. You could never get up unless the other guy stopped shooting. I think some servers disabled that knockout animation or whatever but by that time I was already moving to gta 4

That chamber that you fall into from Kenji's rooftop is probably used to create the reflections in the pool water. When you see the wall being reflected on the pool you're actually looking through a translucent texture into that chamber.

I'm sure you already know this, but the mission (silence the sneak) you kill the crooked cop McCaffrey whom is another character you do missions for in GTA LCS. When playing as Toni in LCS, Mcaffery eventually introduces you to another cop named Ray who is the same man who orders claude to kill MCaffrey 3 years later in the events of GTA 3.

Regarding Fort Staunton building site: I propably tried to fly a Dodo over there but can't remember. However, there was a mod where you had a Tommy Vercetti skin in LC and started at Portland with a Bike and a Helicopter so I explored the place 100%. The others, not so much so great you featured them.

12:57 - that's a BF Injection (Beach Buggy). It's in GTA LCS located down the beach near Salvatore Leone's mansion, then in GTA VCS located in the middle of the long beach (for beach side missions)

I accidentally fell through the ground at the Shoreside Vale Pay N Spray, once. I hadn't placed the car quite fully into the garage, but the shutter came down through the trunk of the car and, when it lifted, the game glitched and sent the car falling through the ground and into a black void. I thought I was going to have to reset the game, but after about ten seconds I emerged in Portland, near 8-Ball's bomb shop. Got a huge insane stunt bonus.
