I don't get the distaste for Larry's voice by the majority haha, I think it sounds really really fucking good especially for a first full solo track using the Larry AI voice, was definitely plugged with alot of Larry clips for reference whichever AI software he uses as it's pretty spot on.

Glorb has unironically gave credibility to meme rap. And is one of the first positive uses of AI(Public Opinion) not only that but he/she has stayed anonymous the entire time created intrigue beyond just the music. We are witnessing something maybe not monumental but definitely unique.

I really like this line of thought, particularly the idea of Glorb giving credibility to meme rap. I’m not sure if it truly is unique, as the techniques of appropriation and concealment of identity have been used in art/music/literature for decades, however, I do think the medium and method in which Glorb has achieved their success and the community that supports them is what is unique.

The reason people enjoy this AI is cause it’s being used how AI has been used for years, a tool. AI “art” is just unskilled theft, takes art from others and makes a soulless creation. Here he’s still making the beat and doing the vocals just putting essentially a filter over it. Although many VA’s are against their voice being stolen, no one used here has said anything. But Kash Krabs >

Hey, I wanted to leave a feedback comment seeing as you're a small channel and unless the algo hits again, I'm probably not likely to find you again, but, I assume you want to hone your craft and make a bigger "thing" out of this all (Hey who doesn't, being able to do youtube full time is absolute goals after all) and I wanted to try to give an honest effort at constructive criticism. I watched the entire video, and to be honest, I only watched it for two reasons. One, I wanted to see if I'd missed any of the glorb tracks (I missed a couple earlier ones, so, that was neat to realize I guess) but, the other was because your title, branding, and presentation left me to expect, well... I guess a bit more of an "expert's" take than me as a layperson with little musical knowledge. An interesting lens to view this music from to make it more interesting to me. I say this with no intent for hatred, but to just offer constructive criticism. I didn't feel like you added much to this really. Your comments were pretty surface level, which, I get the impression you are certainly capable of a more informed, nuanced perspective and commentary from what you have presented and what I see looking at your channel. It perhaps might just be a result of having to listen to more than some other videos (I notice they tend to be in the 10-20 minute range recently, so, perhaps those are more refined), but, I think I would urge you to hone your ability to discuss your anecdotal experience and knowledge around the topic of music. Doing so would have made you here a much more engaging and interesting lens to view Glorb's music through. Since I would have loved to see a more notable exploration of the actual "impact" present, or what you think with your knowhow/experience that it has the potential for. Keep at it man, you definitely got the potential, but, I don't get the vibe you're a react slop channel, work on your on the fly commentary from a more informative/intellectual perspective and I think you got a lot of potential.
@J-1636 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, I really appreciate the feedback and advice. Being a much longer video than I usually produce, I wasn’t sure how it was going to be received, I think the original edit was about 1 hour and 30-40 minutes. I do think I consciously approached this one to just explore glorbs creative process and progression as an artist, rather than do a full breakdown of each track, which I probably would have done if I had done individual videos on each track. I’d say that in other videos when I do go deeper into the nitty gritty of the production or song writing there have been many instances where I have received a lot of feedback and criticism, being called a “know it all”, “music snob” or “that it’s just music, and it shouldn’t be criticised/analysed” etc…. So it can be a fine line between making something that adds valuable commentary or something that just isn’t relevant to anyone or makes people angry or upset. Interestingly, I think the comment section of this video really shows that impact that glorb has had and continues to have, but to truly understand the impact I think we’ll have to give it a few more years to get the full picture. I guess there’s potential for me to do a follow up where I really explore glorbs impact on a deeper level.
@BiggsBababooey6 ай бұрын
@@J-163 Unfortunately yeah, you will run the risk of people saying the exact opposite of what I'm saying. I suppose to an extent it's up to you to decide your creative vision for your channel! My own preferences are not universal and what I like/dislike from channels like this might not align with the most mass appeal or artistic vision you have. But personally at least I think that's the traits that makes people like Anthony Fantano so interesting to listen to even as a person with less knowledge myself. It's not snobby to know about something and be articulate about explaining things about it. I think that's why "Video essays" are such a popular format. People like hearing passionate people discuss at length something they know too. Certainly there exists more room in the future to explore further impacts. Especially with stuff like the Moist interview with Glorb allowing us a lot more insight into him. Up to you how you proceed! And especially with this being a different format than you're used to, it's something to experiment around. Personally, if you want to flex your stuff and potentially hit another more viral video, perhaps the Drake/Kendrick beef would be a good next topic. Plenty of surface level stuff has been said but musical analysis of what has come out would be interesting to see, if that's a topic you were comfortable exploring. Either way, godspeed to ya man, I respect ya taking the critique well, it's an admirable trait.
