Exploring Harajuku, The Center of Japanese Pop Culture! 🍡

We are exploring the Harajuku, this is one of the most kawaii areas of Tokyo Japan. But before we get to the cute stuff we’ll explore the beautiful and historic Meiji shrine. We’ll start the morning with coffee featuring the most amazing 3d latte art from Cafe Reissue. On the iconic Takeshita street, we’ll try a bunch of the cute desserts, from sugar glazed strawberries at Strawberry Fetish to crepes with full cheesecake slices inside. We’ll also explore some of the stores and all the adorable Merch, including a gachapon store filled with over a thousand mystery capsule machines. We’ll even check out some of the local fast food options including Japan-exclusive McDonalds menu items. And we’ll end the night at a delicious gyoza restaurant in Shinjuku, see some street magic and finally witness Godzilla blow fire above Hotel Gracery. Come with us on this adventure!

PRO TIP: When I travel to Japan I bring with me a portable stool. Not a full chair, but something that collapses and can fit in a backpack. Public seating in general is at a premium and even public benches are uncommon.

I'm so glad you are exploring restaurants. There are soooo many there that we always had endless choices for going out. The international cuisine is crazy delicious too! Next time you are there I hope you try some good italian restaurants. There are pizza places there (Napoli style) that won contests as the best pizza in Italy! Tokyo is a foodie's dream city!

Oh my blorb, my wife and I are loving these videos. It's like time-traveling for us to see you two doing all the stuff for the first time, and having the EXACT same reactions we did. I LOVED getting to go to Japan a few years ago and have always wanted to go back. Meiji Jinku was such a beautiful place and there was a wedding happening there when I was there and that was cool to see. The subway everywhere ended up being actually pretty easy to navigate after a few days there and we ate SO MUCH FOOD! From the 7-11's to all the restaurants. Hope you guys found a good ramen shop if you like ramen! All of the vending machines gave me so much life and I loved the sparking apple juice and the hot chocolate out of those!

Another great vlog! The charm of capsule toys are unescapable! lol. They make for nice souvenirs as well. Quirky and small. Also, just for reference, the abundance of towels are used for warm days to wipe sweat or wipe your hands after you washing them in the bathroom. Not a fan of dryers, but I still want to be eco-conscious, so I think it's a good alternative. I carry Tokyo Disney ones whenever I go to Disneyland and DCA.

OMG, that latte art is EVERYthing!! So, so cute! The mystery ball machines are SO SO FUN! We saw those popping up in our local mall not too long ago and they are popular at RoundOne Game Centers up here in Northern CA… but a WHOLE building with multiple floors of those machines?? Omg I love this. The doggie designs are perfect! I wish I was able to see your series before my trip earlier! That poop ice cream thing is in an old style Japanese toilet, though it looks like a urinal. The poop used to kind of sit like that in it lol. It seems like they got rid of most all those old style toilets, even in the old areas of Japan. They used to even be in the Narita airport!
