I cried at the reveal of Atlantis when we were there a few years ago. My kids asked why... hard to explain growing up fascinated with the program and watching 2 of the shuttles and the astronauts being lost live on tv.

Well I really need to get back to Kennedy Space centre. It has seriously changed so much. Having been twice before that Saturn V just blows your mind especially when you think of when it was constructed.

Good video. I met and worked with some of the people who looked into the shuttle accidents. Never seen that shuttle display/museum area before, so very emotional - but also memories of the hard work where people tried to take the lessons from those accidents and make things better for the future.

Incredible video Rick (and Nikki). Have not had the chance to visit, but this was an epic road trip. Growing up in the 80's, I, like many kids my age, had dreamt of becoming an astronaut. And "fun fact" my JHS in NY was named after Virgil Grissom. I still remember watching the Challenger launch in class as a kid-I was the one crying. But, on a happier note-loved the Airplane quotes lol. Really wonderful vlog-thank you for sharing!

We went 2018 booked our Tickets through Virgin Holidays. Which included a lunch with an Astronaut the Kids loved it. The Saturn 5 Rocket always blows be away at the Size only topped by he reveal of Atlantis. My kids jaws just dropped. The Kennedy Space Center overall is just Awesome as my Son would say. Great Video as always Rick and Nikki. Hopefully bump into you April 2022

There are TWO Saturn V rockets at the US Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville AL. One dominates the Huntsville skyline, the other is preserved inside a large display building. You drive past both on I-565. So maybe 4 of them left! It's been many years since I've been to KSC... video brings back alot of memories!

OMGOSH!! I am crying watching this!!! I remember when the Apollo ship was in trouble and my mom on her knees praying for the Astronauts to make it home and Walter Cronkite tearing up on the news...... This is so touching and amazing! You definitely brought it home. This is comprehensive! Thanks for all the tips! Love the Astronaut displays... very touching. The simulator looks like fun too! This place offers so much to do! WOW! The rocket Garden is brilliant!!! Thanks so much for this!

I’ve been a few times when I come over from the UK - they also do specialised bus tours for an extra cost, well worth it if you’re into it. I went on one down to the airforce base to where Alan Shepard first took off and you can go in the blockhouse. Also on that tour go to where the Apollo 1 was, and see the memorials for the 3 astronauts and also see the Mercury 7 monument. Just awesome

My husband and I went there in 2015, it was so neat to be in the presence of all that amazing history. So much to do, see, and learn. We enjoyed it very much and would like to go back soon. Also, it was during the holidays and they had a light and music show in the rocket garden that was awesome! Great video you guys!

Ironically the freeze dried ‘space food’ is not actually used in space. Too crumbly and dusty for a capsule with no atmosphere. Looks like an awesome day out. Will definitely go when I’m next in Orlando. thanks for doing these vlogs.

I was hoping you'd go a little deeper in the Imax area. There's an exhibit in the corner of the building toward the Rocket Garden called NASA Now, where they have a SpaceX Dragon capsule on display. They also have models of the Orion capsule and the SLS there, but the Dragon is the real thing, from the COTS-2 mission to the space station. I'm not ready to go see Atlantis in her current state, yet, I think. I worked on the Shuttle program through much of my career, and I was disappointed her career was cut short. She and Endeavour had plenty of flights left in them. If the whole program had been managed the way it was for the post-Columbia flights, we would never have lost any of them. Someday I'll go visit Discovery. She got 39 flights, she was ready to retire. Thanks for the video. I haven't gone to the Visitor Center since they moved the Astronaut Hall of Fame inside. They've also added the Delta II since I was there last, that was another system I worked on, including that very rocket that got put in the Garden. I guess I'm not used to having to pay to go see rockets. They're supposed to pay me! :D
