Today's adventure takes us to Klingler Cemetery in Wilmington, Illinois. Back in the mid-1800's, Elias Klingler set aside two acres of land to use as a cemetery for his family and neighbors. Little did he know at the time, that all the land surrounding the cemetery would be purchased by the government so they could build the Joliet Arsenal. Now the Joliet Arsenal is gone and the cemetery still remains. This cemetery is still active possibly in more ways than one. So come join me as I explore Klingler Cemetery.

Ran across the cemetery hiking at Midwin today. Beautiful well groomed cemetery. A shame that a couple of the headstones “fell” over!

Interesting video. That property as you stated was Joliet Arsenal land. There were factories and storage building as well as bunkers which you can see a few if you keep riding west on that dirt trail. That property had a series of roads on it, and that trail which is wide enough for vehicles is accessible from the Wauponsee Trail where you turned off of to get to the yellow gate and comes out on another road in Midewin Ntl Tallgrass Prairie which you passed a sign when you came in on the right saying Midewin with literature to read. Anyway no problems getting to the cemetery by car. Now that old Woman. It's 3/4 of a mile back to Wauponsee bike trail. Directly across the trail is a farmhouse. My guess is that is where she went. She probably has family in that cemetery and perhaps was the woman whose headstone you commented on as her being still alive... The cemetery is very serene and peaceful and ol Elias gave his family and neighbors a beautiful resting place..

Just subscribed to the channel, awesome work! Tried looking up the name of Klingler in Find a Grave, and they don't have any memorials. But interesting nonetheless! Keep up the good work!

Thanks for subscribing! On Find a Grave, Klingler is listed in Manhattan, Illinois for some reason.

@@MiddleAgedBaldGuy : That's probably the reason I couldn't find it! It could very well be that the cemetery is in between those two cities!

That road is clearly wide enough for a hearse. We have these roads all around country cemeteries in the South.

Maybe a horse drawn carriage? Or a Farm tractor with a pull trailer?

Nothing wrong with that road. Any hearse could make it in there. Lots of cemeteries have roads worse than this.

That is a dirt road. Not a "trail" go look at family burial areas in the hills Kentucky. It's a better road than some

Oh yeah you can drive that road for sure. Driven various dirt roads around here like Upper Verde Creek Road towards Bandera Tx. Haven't latey, but when a kid and later as an adult my family would go out driving the back roads out here around San Antonio. Good the locals keep the cemetery and the road up.

Well, I doubt very much that a old lady would be jogging in 90* heat. I’ve seen a few ghosts in my time so I’m not opposed to the fact you may have seen a Spirt or ghost. I’m just wondering if there was another car in the parking lot?

There's absolutely no reason why a car or hearse couldn't go down that road. If a car can pull up a driveway that size then it's very possible. There's been roads around here like that, and I've driven down them. There might have been a car there when the lady was there and you didn't see it, and she drove out. Older people were used to driving on narrow dirt roads in the country when they were younger.

BY looking at the "path" as you call it, it has the characteristic of a dirt road, and when my Grand parents were buried the Funeral coach drove on nothing but manicured grass, and the "path" you rode on has double ruts on it proving that vehicles drive on it regularly enough to prevent grass from growing on them. And a Hearse would have no problems driving on it as long as it kept it's speed down to a minimum, so no issues that I can see, and the recent Burials of 2017 prove it as well as the fact that the graveyard is cleanly kept and mowed so I figure that a truck with a couple of guys comes out regularly to mow the lawn and trim the weeds as well. As far as the Spirit you suggest you have seen, they are far more common than people realize and they are almost universally our enemies, do not ever trust a spirit that manifests itself to you, and never take them at their word if they talk to you!!! Their objective is not anything you want to have a part of. Consider them a force of Evil for those that manifest themselves to humanity are all of evil origins, even the ones that appear to be people from the past, DO NOT EVER TRUST THEM!
@helencheadle5285
@helencheadle5285 3 жыл бұрын
It is untrue to talk like that about Spirit…we are all entitled to our own beliefs, so please don’t shout that they are evil and people must not trust them..it’s up to US to have our own beliefs, just as you do.
