Now I think you can stay in a hotel that will have a hot spring bath house in it. Was where you stayed have that? The water in the stream flows from the mountain but there are the occasional holes here & there where the hot spring comes out into the stream. That’s where the steam is coming from.

There was a big hotel but we didn't want to split up to go in, plus we prefer cooking so having our own onsen in our house was the best option for us
