If you will be there longer, I recommend you to visit Enilchek, its a full abandoned city far into the mountains, and if you go to the end of the road and trek toward China you can reach the amazing Enilchek Glacier. I didn't go to the glacier before, I think you can solo-trek to it (and not pay for an expedition) but later in Summer as there is still too much snow at >3000m right now.

Yet another fascinating video of a country I didn’t previously know anything about. It was interesting that you asked the provocative question with regards to the Ukraine and some people already commented that his answer might not be sincere. On the other hand, as a Brit who grew up during the Cold War period and was taught to fear Russia as a dangerous enemy (and it has to be said the standard of living for ordinary people during those times in the USSR does look to be pretty poor), I now see things differently with the passage of time. For one, living conditions and general standard of living in Russia looks to have improved immeasurably and there does seem to be even more freedom in some respects when compared to many Western countries, as long as you stay out of politics. The few Russians I have met over the years have also been nice, decent people and they are definitely not my enemy. The real problem is the politicians on both sides. The West broke various agreements and NATO has continued to expand eastwards. The Ukrainian president was also replaced by the West in 2014 and replaced by the puppet we see today. While I cannot condone Putin for sending thousands of young men to their deaths, the Western politicians have even more blood on their hands for feeding the war - a war which the ordinary people on both sides don’t want and didn’t ask for. I hope you continue to stay safe and live the free life that is the birthright of us all.
