I've lived here my entire life and currently live in Little Tokyo, which is near the real Eastside (Boyle Heights). It's really not as bad as it used to be, but has a lot of beautiful photo ops. A technicallity - a sodium vapor lamp emits light at pretty much one single wavelength (589 nm), being the very defenition of monochromatic. The greyish look is exactly that, no other major colors should typically emerge when lit directly under a sodium lamp. That is, if there are no other light sources in the vicinity. And yeah, would really love to see you having some fun with bad flashes and grainydays...And I like the new "format" man!
