Amazing Philippines

Mactan has a to offer tourists and expats. Each trip I take to Mactan island provides new surprises. There are many resorts with most being along the eastern shore. Large gated housing developments and condominiums as well aa condos incorporated into resorts on the sea are common. Many of the top resorts bring in white sand for their beach and offer many options for sea activities. Diving, snorkeling, "banana boat" rides, jetski, and much more.

Nice ride its an interesting area but for long term living i find it to campy and overcrowded but for weekends its a good spot. It does have a vacation vibe Mactan.

Interesting thoughts Olijf. There is a unique personality "culture" on Mactan. Tourist areas, expat areas, barangay areas, etc. Slower pace in general.

Hello Rod! Love the channel! I am a Canadian foreigner that can't wait to be back in Lapu-Lapu with my wife! Another 4 months or so and I will be full time in PH. In the meantime your channel makes the wait easier! Thanks! BTW, We rent a 2 bedroom townhouse in the Baywater Subdivision. Just moved to get a belter price. Same thing as previous house but the price went from 23K to 17K/month and I get a yard (400 sq.ft.) Prices are down.

Hello Patrick. Enjoy the winter season in Canada. Minnesota was too cold too long for me. LOL! I am considering a house or townhouse the next time I move in a year or so. Sounds like you got a great price.

Great video Rod, please ride carefully. In my almost 4 years here I had 2 incidents when trycicle’s cut me off and I fell both times as a results avoiding hitting them and both times it was their faults. I bruised few ribs in process and my right shoulder still not 100% even thou it’s been while since my last accident. I have NMax now and I had a car before but end up selling it due to can’t find good mechanic here and it was costing me too much fixing it. I will buy new car early next year after my visit my kids and family back home in Canada later this year. Stay safe my friend!

All Chinese in the Philippines gotta go including all Fil- Chi. They don't spend a centavo in the Philippines. They don't buy nothing from the Filipinos and they don't buy nothing from the Philippines. They buy everything from the Chinese store and everything they buy has to be from China. The buildings they are renting are owned by Chinese or has to be Chinese owner. Jollibee is China's Company. The capital is from China and everything they cook and sell is from China. And all the profits are returned to China.

Thanks again for showing familiar places on the way along Quezon National Highway from Cordova to Mactan New Town Rod! Have to correct a bit your inform about Alegria Palms Subdivision which is about 1,8km BEFORE time 4:32 where is our subdivision Costa del Sol in Suba-Panas. Before that, in time 3:42 on left turns to the direction new CCLEX bridge along the Gabi river and in time 3:52 is on the bridge the border of Cordova and Lapu-Lapu. After our subdivision next on the left 4:47 is Pasific Grand Townhomes Rd main gate just across Nissi Academy That is a turning point for new Ceres Air Con buses going to SM City Mall for about 40php and same in minutes stopping only in couple of the places. Very comfortable. Come to see us after about 3+ weeks if you`re interested after our trip to Camotes. There is some interesting nice houses to rent or sale...perhaps ours also 2023 if it happensa as like plans.

Philippines used to only very rich people have a car. And they don't drive. They hired a driver. And the driver have no driver's license and can't even write his name. Driver's license wasn't required either.

Be very careful on sundays and weekends in general your chances of encountering a drunk driver are greatly increased statistics have proven # 1 killer of motorcycle oncoming traffic making a left hand turn in front of you #2 drivers wishing to enter the highway going to same direction as you #3 being hit from behind . Most fatal accident happened in the early morning or evening & most accidents happen close to your home . When changing lanes always use your signals & TURN YOUR HEAD to check before executing the maneuver never only trust your mirrors here in the philippines riders usually stick out there left arm before making a left hand turn to alert the cars behind them not to pass !!!

Took a V-hire from Argao to Cebu, they cramp the passengers as much to the max, not a pleasant experience. Won’t ride on it again. Bigger passenger buses like Ceres are way much comfortable.
@AmazingPhilippines1
@AmazingPhilippines1 Жыл бұрын
You are correct Harold. I have found many of the vhire drivers to be overly aggressive and dangerous drivers. Buses used to be bad also but the government clamped down on them and now they are more regulated even with speed limiters I think.

I prefer to live as close as possible to Ayala , Sm Cebu mall, Landers and S&R. Location, location location. Those two malls has many day to day living accommodations such as grocery stores, restaurants/fast food, banks, bill payment, hardware stores, clothing stores…….. Mactan/Cordova offers the international airport, beaches, floating cottages…..but very limited day to day living accommodation vs Cebu city. Living on Mactan/Cordova island offers cheaper rental properties, but you get what you pay for……which is living very far from Ayala , SM Cebu or Seaside malls. So that means your forced to commute to Cebu city. During your commute , usually in heavy traffic, you run the risks of running into a pulis checkpoint, receiving a violation from traffic enforcers, being involved in a vehicle accident……or just the agony of commuting in heavy traffic.

Were you wearing a chest or helmet mounted cam while moto-vlogging Rod? I just think it's risky when I see some vloggers holding a selfie stick with one hand and holding the scooter or motorcycle handlebar with the other hand while riding. Becoming Filipino, FinnSnow and other travel vloggers come to mind.

Are there condo's there that have sound proofing ?
@AmazingPhilippines1
@AmazingPhilippines1 Жыл бұрын
Not really sound proofing Barry but I have found the concrete floor, ceiling, and walls to do a better job than the wood frame building/apartments I have lived in the USA. Windows and doors are usually not sealed well so I have added better seals that helps a bit. Facing a poor area will get you more noise usually.
