Been to Manapouri often enough, sailed on it a lot, done the tourist trips but never recall swimming in the lake. It is a beautiful lake and probably my favourite it has a grandeur that pretty lakes like Wakatipu and Wanaka dont have. Another great video and very glad I found your channel.

Great to see the in-laws farm looking nice and green!!! From the Waiau Bridge to the corner (where the Café is) and then left to the bottom of Blackmount Hill is 'home'!!! We last were there in July and it was COLD!!!!!

Being a Pom Manapouri is my all time favourite place any where, especially NZ. I have spent 2 weeks here in total painting the amazing scenery. could not get enough time sketching and painting.

Mince and cheese… I’m with you Toby 🙂 This is such a great episode, the park looks fantastic, will def go there sometime. Swimming looks great too. Looking forward to your videos on the bike ride and the run. You is a wee bit crazy though Mike doing that in the snow haha. Enjoyed the making the American eat NZ foods haha. We had German friends who bought marmite when they got to NZ thinking it was chocolate spread. Boy did they get a surprise when they lathered it onto there bread and bit into it 😂

The lakes are so beautiful for swimming... my run will be out on friday it was an epically hard day out... yea we actually have some really good food over here that they don't do in the states yum...

Such a brilliant spot, the transition from the coast to great fresh water locations is going well. Beautiful clear water, not much Paua though. How about getting a Trout licence? I wonder if that water is getting into the door at the bottom of the window where it winds down - I think there's usually a small drain at the bottom of the doors. Great idea using the interior space for some wet weather school work. That's one rugged tough running expedition in the mountains, well done!

A neat experience is to take the ferry to the glow worm caves across lake Te Anau. Pur kids loved it

Hey Fred, so I think All Nzmca parks are 10 days in a month that you can stay... The pie was really good, I reckon to make it even better it needed a bit more gravy and a little more sweetness...

So beautiful down there, a real point of difference at the Manapouri NZMCA park. You've been getting in a few fresh water swims to which is awesome. Mike you are a keen mate doing 9 hours of running! We did the lake 2 lake last year on our bikes, a beautiful ride.

yea 9 hours on the trails is a long day out... In my fit days I would have been at more like 80kms rather then 50... THose extra kgs...

LOTR location: On the Rainbow Reach Road, between Te Anau and Manapouri. 12 minutes from Te Anau. The great river to the east of the Misty Mountains, it runs from north to south through much of Middle-earth. Anduin means "long-river". Where's this? How much does it cost to camp there? Did you know there are walking/ bike tracks in the area? Next time go and check out the control gates at Te Anau... The kids will love it! Thanks for the vid 🙏
