Thanks for an insight into your guys schooling adventure. Its amazing what can be achieved each day Mike, and having kids that are motivated really helps. Four of our our 7 kids went to school up to just before intermediate, then we pulled them out to homeschool, our kids would leave home at 7.45 am and get home at 4pm, we felt like we never saw them, dairy farming is a huge time commitment in itself. Our kids did really well and like yours, were motivated, some of them were up doing school work at 6am and have lessons for day done by 9am. You are very fortunate too, in that your guys are learning geography science etc, first hand by the things youdo and places you visit, you are out there in an amazing class room, Leopards. Mike did you get my email, I sent a picture of a T-Rex head skull our eldest son has 3d printed, thought Toby might be keen to see it, if he is I'll send some more of dino's he has printed.

Brilliant. I reckon your kids are getting a well-rounded education. It's not all about academia. From what I see in your weekly episodes, your kids are experiencing much more than the majority of kids who do regular schooling. And a big plus, is having Mum & Dad there to guide them. That doesn't happen in many families. Good on you guys. 😊
@leopardsgowild3 күн бұрын
thanks mate. Having adults around to steer education is a big plus for sure. The things the kids learn on the road is incredible. Just parking up at the clyde dam, currently, talking about Dam's the spill way, then we have all the Natural Lemon thyme growing all over the hill side, and the crazy rock formations in the area, so many things to learn.

Hi Leopards. Mike and Sophie, you sound like you have all things sorted. Good stuff. Knowing one or two, that were farming on islands, and on the high country stations, using correspondence lessons, as it was called back then, they seemed to do ok, but this Te Kura system seems to be quite simple, doesn't it.? All the very best, for your futures. That's for the kids. This was a brilliant episode folks. Mike your detailed explanation was a big help in understanding how the system works. But heck man, we gotta get you folks to the 10k subbers mark. I've recommended your channel to mates who I think would be interested. But I don't know if they have followed that through. Yet.!! Anyway take care. Stay warm. Think there's a cold front coming through. Stay safe. Cheers.
@leopardsgowild3 күн бұрын
the Te Kura system is the same as the correspondence system. I guess as the year have gone by the options have increased which really make it so simple for the kids to excell from where ever they are in the country. It's worked really well for us so far. Yes bring on the 10k subs, what a mile stone thats' going to be.

@leopardsgowild the problem I find Mike, is that there's too many of my mates, both male and female, who are stuck on TV. But I guess like to think I'm prodding them in the direction of "Leopards go Wild." Cheers.

What a wonderful lifestyle, experiencing nature as well as full-time parenting. You are doing well, not that you need anyone else approval. While I was teaching part-time four decades ago at my children's school, I'd incorporate homeschooling days these were much appreciated by my children which they mentioned years later which I'm sure your children will share with friends as adults, the books they may write. I look forward to all your videos while imagining I'm there in nature. Have you met any seniors living full-time van life, as I'm seriously planing this as an option.

Oh yea thats great. Our kids love the idea of returning to school one day, which will likely happen but not next year, we'll see after another year on the road. I think the learnings they have from travel and 1 - 1 parents helpping them through their school work is going to be amazing for them.

My family always camps down the road at the Waikouaiti motor camp every Christmas for a few weeks and I never new that camp was there looks like a camp me and my grandparents might have to try in there camper van, if you come to Dunedin a camp I would recommend is the Taieri mouth holiday camp at Knarston Park it’s great when it’s not to windy but I think you might need to pay, and you can chuck out a fishing rod because the kahawai run up the river this time of year and it’s only a 1 minute walk down onto the beach , safe travels

Gidday Leopards, another great adventure. Boy oh boy you had my mouth salivating, watching Toby cook those cockle fritters, and you are so on to it, they are the sweetest of shellfish. I can remember we camped at Ohiwa campground one time, and some body told us that there were juicy pipis in the Waitahe estuary entrance. So Anne and I walked 4.5k from camp to river entrance, and it was so worth the 9k round trip walk to find some and cook them up as fritters, people thought we were crazy walking that far, but it was truly worth the walk. loved the Aurora lights again Mike, awesome.
