Rick, I was right there with you! Ragweed, dogs, cats and rabbits house dust, dust mites, mold and mildew, wool. A couple of years I was in the hospital more than at school. I got allergy shots one summer and never had another asthma attack. I remember taking tedral. It had theophylline in it. I had my first respiratory therapy treatment in the hospital at 18 months old. No Albuteral for sure. I’m about your age.

I'm glad to hear that you're better these days. I missed ALL of 2nd grade and had to have a tutor come out to the house once a week. Asthma is still bad, but at least the inhalers provide more instant relief.

I was in the hospital under an oxygen tent many times when I was little, so I can relate! I also grew out of it and I'm thankful for that!

Once again a nice video to make my Friday. Love the wildflowers and the views. Smoke probably came from Canadian wildfires. My late husband and I used sticks with bobbers and weights for the kids. Worked just as well as fancy fishing poles and mostly free of charge. We spent many memorable hours on a river bank. Always took hamburg and hot dogs just in case the fish didn't cooperate. Fantastic video! My husband didn’t have asthma until his fifties! He developed allergen induced asthma. His main allergen is cedar pollen. Plus his asthma is aggravated by perfumes, colognes etc. So we understand about asthma now. But it prompts us to travel a lot. Especially when the cedar pollen starts dumping into our area of Texas. Since we retired we have been traveling even more, so we enjoy your videos immensely! Hope to meet y’all along the way one day.

I had never heard of that type of asthma before! Traveling to other places does help and that's one of the reasons we left Hawaii years ago was the jungle rot in the air where we were living. Come on up to Montana, the air is pretty good here.

Yep, I remember being hit with asthma when about 7-8 years old, but not bad enough for a trip to the hospital. I remember being fed Coricidin, the big red pill, but that might have been the cure for some other problem. I, too, out grew it, or so I thought, but when I left the service in my early 20's and took on a summer job driving a grain truck during harvest season, well it was not a good idea to climb up into the grain silo with shovel to level out the top so it would hold just a little more grain. The asthma returned for another day or so, and wised me up to stay away from such dusty places. Been asthma free ever since, and I've got a few years on you folks. What was I allergic to? Elm trees and just mowing the lawn always got me to sneezing with runny nose and itchy eyes, plus alfalfa or anything called hay still gets to me.

Those trees were likely severely weakened by drought, allowing the bark beetles to overwhelm them. We used to think forests like this were killed by the beetles but we now know it's more typically a result of drought plus the beetles. It's a shame to lose so many trees.

We've been setting the idle speed a little higher and are "idling" the bike up onto the rack. Practice walking beside it on flat ground until you get used to it.

Ragweed from our backyard pasture turned out to be the culprit for me. I mostly grew out of asthma, only have a touch of it now if I shovel snow too rapidly. So I shovel slowly and use a small shovel.....

Sure some nice scenery there. I do miss taking the motorcycle out in the woods and enjoying the scenery. BTW The last glaciers to hit Montana would have been about 10,000 to 14,000 years ago depending on the source you read. The Wisconsin glacier hit into Montana, how far into the state also depends on the source you read. Stay safe and healthy.

Lol Rick I don't know about smoking Mullein but the dried leaves work great in tea to clear congestion from your lungs. Smoking anything is bad for people with asthma and COPD. The Natives here smoke cous cous, a root, for health. I have had COPD since I was a child... I spent a month in the hospital with an oxygen tent over me when I was 2... and still remember it.

To the east of Deer Lodge there is a dirt road that goes over to highway 15 with an old gold mine up in there , road was open years ago but maybe gated now not sure but in parts follows along side a creek , beautiful area some camp spots

Not asthmatic but allergic to bermuda grass and oleanders. Dug out 14 bushes when I bought my home. Also they're poisonous if leaves are ingested and can affect you if there's an open cut .

Just wondered about the wildlife there, especially bears and mountain lions. I had childhood asthma in the mid to late 60's. And prescribed Tedral, liquid and pill form. Terrible tasting...blah. So I know what you went through. Kane'ohe had beaucoup allergies we lived through. And we had 3 or 4 dogs and cats and both my parents smoked cigarettes!

We were in Montana twice this summer dinna get to explore Much yet . Jealous you got a enduro to run around on lol We were testing our new Ember had to make a run to NYS in July but we still also have our Cargo conversion as back up kinda miss it a bit ! Question Rick : Do you notice any sway in your trailer adding 280 pounds on the rear of the trailer? Just curious? Where did you buy the platform rack ? Is it aluminum or steel? Thanks!😁👍

The rack is from Harbor Freight and wouldn't be my first choice to buy again, I first bought it for my ebike. It's aluminum and steel. Harbor Freight makes an all steel one that might be better. We had to carefully re-adjust the load to move more weight to the front and we're not getting any sway.

Mullen weed seeds were crushed and put in pond and fish would float to top to be harvested ..it is against the law to do it now... the leaves used like tea is good

Oh my lord now you’re a Biker with a Biker Babe…..who would have thought ? I’m 76 and have had allergies my whole life, but they have changed with my age. When I was young it was mostly cats and hay or just lawn grass, in my 30’ s it became more pollens. About that time i developed some fruit and nut allergies, apples, cherries, almonds and a few others. If the fruit was cooked it was ok, apple and cherry pie no problem, thank goodness, but not almonds . Peanuts and walnuts are fine. I guess I outgrew the apple allergy because I eat them raw again but not cherries. Every spring I get hay fever, as I’ve aged it’s not as bad but to last for months instead of weeks. My whole live I was envious of people without allergies and almost a constant runny nose. O well if that’s the worst I have to complain about it ain’t much. lol

Thanks for your comment and we do apologize for boring you, but it's not easy to put out an exciting video every Friday. We do try though. A few months ago we changed our format because we saw that most of our viewers preferred our videos that are done in the woods and we tried to concentrate more on that, but maybe we need to go back to showing a wider variety of subjects like we used to.

@@gonagain No apology necessary. I made my comment because I actually wanted to make a comment that would help you. Otherwise I would not have made a comment at all. I do feel your videos were more interesting prior to the changes you made but I can't fault you at all for making those changes. It's your business and obviously you have to do what works for you. I will say though, regarding recommendation(s), when you guys are out exploring old mining towns or even just small towns along the way (like when you introduced the water quality tester (which I purchased), or when you are actually doing something besides just walking in the woods ... it's more entertaining! Walking in the woods is fun and many of us like to do that but to sit and watch a video of someone just walking along the wooded trail is really not very exciting! Know what I mean? And when you review products or give advice on products, it's great when you put that in the video title if you can because someone might not be interested in a trailer hitch or lithium batteries or whatever while others will be drawn to that video because of their particular interests. I personally thought the video when Rick was out stealth camping in Montana with his electric bike and military surplus tent was a nice little video. So was his review of the RV awnings and lithium batteries. But like I said, when it's just a video about walking along the trail, or riding the new Yamaha up a road ... well, that's just not very interesting really. I'll check back in now and then and see what you're up to. Like I said previously, I know you guys are good people and all that. So my "unsubscribing" was JUST about the entertainment value of sitting and watching a 20 minute walk up the trail! I know it's hard to make everything "interesting" so I don't fault you for that. And Lord knows we don't need Rick to play the harmonica or any song and dance! Take care!
